(CLO) Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung said that up to now, the real estate market has had positive changes, overcoming the most difficult period.
At the regular press conference for the fourth quarter held on the afternoon of December 27, Mr. Ngo Lam, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Construction, said that the real estate market has shown signs of positive change.
For example, the real estate supply, which had been limited for a while, has improved; the number of transactions for apartments, individual houses and land plots has tended to increase. However, there are still local price fluctuations in some segments and some areas.

Faced with the situation of rising real estate and commercial housing prices in some large cities, the Ministry of Construction has reported to the Prime Minister, assessing the current situation, analyzing the causes and proposing solutions.
"The Ministry of Construction has also issued many documents urging and reminding localities to have timely solutions," said Mr. Ngo Lam.
Commenting further on the real estate market, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy Minister of Construction, said: Recently, the Government, the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Construction, together with ministries, branches and localities, have had many drastic directions and implemented many synchronous solutions to remove difficulties for the real estate market.
The Prime Minister's Working Group on removing difficulties and obstacles in implementing real estate projects has worked with localities and real estate enterprises to listen to reports, grasp information and situations, and review each specific real estate project to discuss, guide, and answer questions to remove difficulties and obstacles in implementing real estate projects.
“Along with the completion of the legal system, drastic solutions from the central to local levels, and the efforts of businesses and investors, the real estate market has had positive changes, overcoming the most difficult period,” said Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung.
According to the Deputy Minister, the social housing policy in the past year has received special attention from the Party, the National Assembly and the Government, determining the task of investing in developing social housing for workers and low-income people as one of the important and humane criteria and policies to ensure social security and the driving force for stable socio-economic development of the country.
In fact, from 2021 to present, nationwide, 644 social housing projects have been implemented with a scale of 580,109 units, of which the number of completed projects: 96 projects with a scale of 57,652 units.

Number of projects that have started construction: 133 projects with a scale of 110,217 apartments; number of projects that have been approved for investment policy: 415 projects with a scale of 412,240 apartments.
Regarding the support capital of 120,000 billion VND according to Resolution No. 33, up to now, 36/63 provincial People's Committees have issued documents announcing projects eligible for preferential loans on the electronic information portal (16 projects have been granted loans with a total credit commitment of 4,200 billion VND, outstanding debt of 1,727 billion VND).
In 2024, the Ministry of Construction will coordinate with the Government Office to organize 02 conferences to remove difficulties and promote social housing development. The Ministry is submitting to the Government a draft Resolution on preferential capital sources for social housing development.
“Accordingly, it is proposed to implement a preferential package of VND100,000 billion for social housing loans from bond capital, applicable for 5 years. The above efforts will be the premise for the development of social housing nationwide to accelerate in the coming time,” Deputy Minister Nguyen Viet Hung emphasized.
