Phu Thinh town has 6 blocks after merger

In Decision No. 130 dated January 17, 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee decided to convert Tan Quy village into Tan Quy urban block, Lam Mon village into Lam Mon urban block and Binh Thanh village into Binh Thanh urban block. According to this decision, Phu Thinh town has 6 urban blocks (Tan Thinh, Thanh Duc, Tam Cam, Tan Quy, Lam Mon, Binh Thanh).

According to Resolution 1241 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units in Quang Nam province in the period of 2023 - 2025, Phu Ninh established Phu Thinh town (new) on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Tam Vinh commune into Phu Thinh town. From January 1, 2025, Phu Ninh will have 9 communes and 1 town.

Previously, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung also decided to recognize the expanded Phu Thinh town (Phu Thinh town and Tam Vinh commune) as meeting the criteria of a type V urban area under Phu Ninh district.
