The charred body found in Thu Duc City was the result of self-immolation.

Regarding the discovery of a charred body in an empty plot of land on Street No. 5, An Phu Ward, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City) on the morning of June 5th, the Thu Duc City Police have determined the nature of the incident.

Through scene investigation, interviews with the family, and extraction of security camera footage from the surrounding area, the police have sufficient grounds to conclude that the man, LVT (31 years old, from Ben Tre ), committed suicide by self-immolation.

Police determined that Mr. T. was walking from Binh Thanh District towards Thu Duc City, carrying a can of gasoline. Upon reaching an empty plot of land next to a project on Street No. 5, An Phu Ward, Mr. T. doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire.

Mr. T. recently completed his prison sentence and returned to his hometown on June 4th.
