Miss Universe contestants perform in costumes named 'Quoc Co

On the evening of December 26, the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 Semi-finals included the National Costume performance for the first time in the competition. It can be said that this is the most anticipated competition content due to the unique and “unlimited” creativity of young designers.

The content of this contest aims to create conditions for contestants to promote tourism and national pride, while honoring and promoting the spirit of connecting the country's history and culture with the theme "New, inspired by the future".

In the competition, contestant Quach Thi Le wore a national costume with the “shocking” name “Quoc Co – Quoc Nghiep” inspired by two Vietnamese circus artists who have repeatedly conquered Guinness records, bringing glory to the country. The image of the two circus artists shows that the Vietnamese people have extraordinary will and determination.

It can be said that the costumes named after two circus artists are quite bold and somewhat risky. Because besides the impressive name, the costumes have not really conquered the audience with their own unique shapes and features to express "willpower".

Nguyen Thi Lan in the Thien Chuong Son Ha costume is the image of Mother Nature embracing and protecting the mountains and rivers, and at the same time represents the balance of the world in the future with the symbol of the infinite dragon from the Ly Dynasty. However, unfortunately, this design is too cumbersome so the contestant did not have the opportunity to wear the dress but could only "play" around this costume.

Dang Tu Nhan with the Bamboo and Rattan Dance inspired by the long-standing bamboo and rattan weaving craft of the Vietnamese people. The design is not too elaborate but creates a gentle and graceful feeling for the contestants in the performance.

Le Thi Tuyet Nhi performed a costume called Nan Non, inspired by the Vietnamese conical hat. The costume was elaborately, meticulously and magnificently made, creating a strong impression on the audience.

Le Ngoc Phuong Thao with the work Giong, inspired by the story of Phu Dong Thien Vuong, representing national strength, spirit and passionate youth. The costume is designed with a sparkling silver color, the details are also exquisitely expressed.

Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy with impressive design Doan Nghe Nu Si inspired by Vietnamese mythology and is one of the mascots with typical and popular symbols of communal houses, pagodas and temples in Vietnam. The elaborate design and bright colors with meticulously crafted motifs make a strong impression on the audience.

Tran Thi Thuy Tram in Dai Nam Kich Le costume inspired by the opera. This design is limited in familiar shapes so it is difficult to show its own uniqueness.

However, the color and appearance on stage in the TV became the impressive highlight for the performance of this costume.

Contestant Bui Thi Phuong Hang performed the design Mother Stork, inspired by the image of a stork, a metaphor for the image of a hard-working Vietnamese mother who overcomes all difficulties and storms to open her arms to protect and love her children.

The Final Night and New Year's fireworks display will take place on the night of December 31 in Da Lat City, Lam Dong. The moment the new Miss is crowned is also the New Year's Eve to welcome the new year 2024.
