Implement many solutions to shorten project progress

Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) is coordinating with the construction unit to implement many solutions to shorten the construction progress of the T3 Passenger Terminal project at Tan Son Nhat Airport.

According to ACV, the shortening of the project's progress is to closely follow the Government's request to put the project into use on April 30, 2025, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The project to build Passenger Terminal T3 - Tan Son Nhat airport has a total investment of 10,990 billion VND.

According to ACV, the first solution is to implement the Government's directive for key projects: "overcome the sun and rain", "eat and sleep quickly", "work in 3 shifts, work through holidays, Tet, and days off, and only discuss work, not backtracking".

"Currently, the construction site has mobilized more than 2,500 workers and engineers, hundreds of construction machines and equipment, working day and night in 3 shifts to soon bring the project to the finish line," said an ACV representative.

In addition to thoroughly following the Government's directives, ACV also said that the application of advanced construction technologies is extremely important. In order to speed up the progress of concrete construction, contractors have applied the method of dividing construction zones and top-down construction to construct multiple points and perform rolling construction. At the same time, combining the processing of steel structures, concrete, and semi-finished materials at workshops and factories outside the construction site. Using large-capacity cranes to increase erection productivity, limit the rotation of formwork and scaffolding.

After completion, T3 passenger terminal will be a domestic passenger terminal with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, serving 7,000 passengers/peak hour.

"To ensure adherence to progress, it is necessary to apply project management according to objectives combined with process control. Divide the construction volume of contractors according to the 15-day schedule, regularly evaluate, if any contractor does not meet the output, they must compensate in the next 15-day period to ensure that the set target is always met," ACV informed.

Regarding disbursement and payment issues, ACV also pays special attention to ensuring speed and compliance with regulations.

"ACV requires contractors not to owe wages or bonuses to workers, to do a good job of building camps for workers, and to ensure safe working conditions for workers," ACV added.

Many items ahead of schedule

ACV said that the construction of the project items is being controlled and implemented in accordance with the set schedule. Currently, the rough construction of the project has been completed, and the work of completing the architecture, construction, interior and equipment installation is being urgently deployed, the total volume has reached about 75% of the entire project.
