The Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Component 2 project through Dong Thap province is still stuck with land acquisition issues, causing difficulties for the contractor in construction.
Component 2 of the Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway project started construction on August 27, 2024 and is expected to be completed and put into use on July 5, 2026. The project has a total length of about 11.43km, of which the section passing through Tien Giang province is 7.62km long, the rest is in Dong Thap province.

Major Nguyen Manh Hung - Director of Enterprise 98.2, Truong Son Construction Corporation (the contractor) said that the section through Dong Thap province is under the contractor's responsibility. This section is 3.8km long and passes through two districts, Thap Muoi and Cao Lanh.
Currently, at the construction site, to speed up construction progress, in early December, the contractor increased the number of workers by 30% and the number of machines and equipment by 50%.
Up to now, the construction progress of the two bridges, Canal 307 and Cai Lan, has basically met the investor's requirements. Regarding the road, the contractor is still facing difficulties due to land clearance problems.
Specifically, regarding technical infrastructure, the entire route has not been relocated according to regulations. Meanwhile, the project has affected more than 200 households. To date, two households in important locations have not yet handed over the site to the construction unit.
Construction progress of bridges included in the basic package meets the investor's requirements.
The first location with land clearance problems is also the most important location at the intersection with provincial road (DT) 850. This is the location adjacent to component project 1 and component project 2.
The next location with land clearance problems is on public service road number 3. This location is still stuck, leading to many difficulties in assembling the contractor's machinery and equipment to organize the construction.
Regarding technical infrastructure, relevant units have planned to relocate but the specific time for handing over the clean site to the construction unit is unknown.
Mr. Huynh Xuan Binh, Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Thap province, said that up to this point, the construction site of component project 2, Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway, the section passing through the province is basically favorable when all affected households have agreed on the compensation plan.
The remaining two households will also hand over the clean site to the construction unit in December, to ensure the project progress according to regulations.
The Cao Lanh - An Huu Expressway Component 2 project has a total length of about 11.43km. Of which, about 3.8km passes through Dong Thap province and more than 7.62km passes through Tien Giang province.
The project has a total investment of 3,856 billion VND, with Tien Giang People's Committee as the managing agency, starting at the intersection with component project 1, Cao Lanh - An Huu expressway at Km16 in My Hiep commune, Cao Lanh district (Dong Thap).
The end point of the project intersects with the Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway project at Km 98+950, about 1.8km from An Thai Trung intersection, An Thai Trung commune, Cai Be district (Tien Giang).
