Accordingly, in 2025, Hanoi University will use three admission methods, including direct admission and priority admission; combined admission according to Hanoi University's regulations; and considering high school graduation exam scores in 2025.
In which, with the combined admission method according to the regulations of Hanoi University, the school officially stopped the admission combined with the capacity assessment test of Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University and stopped the admission by the results of the thinking assessment test organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Last year, the school considered combining high school academic scores with the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test scores with a minimum acceptance score of 105/150 points, Ho Chi Minh City National University's minimum score of 850/1,200 points, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology's thinking assessment results of 21/30 points.
A representative of Hanoi University said that in 2025, the school will not eliminate admission combined with international certificates, but will eliminate admission combined with competency assessment and thinking assessment of some universities.
"According to the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training, schools must review and streamline unpopular admission methods/objects for the school's training programs, based on the admission results of the past 3 years," the school explained.
Previously, the Academy of Finance also announced four main admission methods for 2025, including direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission of candidates with outstanding abilities; admission based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; and combined admission.
Thus, compared to last year, this year the Academy of Finance has abandoned the method of selecting candidates using the results of the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University; and has abandoned the consideration of the results of the thinking assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Last year, the academy reserved at least 5% of its quota for candidates to participate in the admission process based on the results of these two separate exams.
Previously, speaking to the press on April 3, Mr. Hoang Minh Son - Deputy Minister of Education and Training - said that according to the university and college admission regulations in 2025, regulations stipulate that for a major with many admission methods, the admission combination must be converted to a common scale; the standard score must ensure equivalence in terms of assessing the capacity and requirements of learners.
If a major or a study program has only one admission method, schools do not have to convert equivalence.
"If training institutions use multiple admission methods for a major, they must be able to convert scores. If they cannot convert, they should not use multiple methods," said Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son.
