TPO - In response to passengers' complaints about difficulties in traveling from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port (where passengers from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao are picked up) and vice versa, relevant units have calculated additional transfer options.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just released some information that people need to know to take the high-speed train route from Ho Chi Minh City to Con Dao.
According to the HCM City Department of Transport, regarding the transfer plan, currently in the immediate phase, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company (Phu Quoc Express - investor of the HCM City - Con Dao high-speed train) is arranging 45-seat passenger vans at 23/9 Park (Saigon Bus Station, Le Lai Street) to support the transfer of passengers from the city center (23/9 Park) to Saigon Hiep Phuoc port and vice versa.

The bus takes passengers straight to the pier (where the Thang Long ship docks to pick up passengers to Con Dao). The number of transfers is limited and priority is given to passengers who register in advance.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has assigned the City Public Transport Management Center to guide Phu Quoc Expressway Joint Stock Company to coordinate with Phuong Trang Passenger Transport Joint Stock Company to have a plan to transfer passengers from 23/9 Park to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc Port with appropriate fees.

In case passengers go to the port by their own vehicle, Saigon Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company will arrange a 20-seat electric car to serve passengers, with priority given to the elderly and children. In addition, Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company uses 45-seat shuttle buses to serve passengers from the port gate to the pier (800m distance).
Saigon Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company has arranged overnight parking for motorbikes and cars at Saigon Hiep Phuoc Port for passengers who drive their own vehicles to the port. The daily parking fee for motorbikes is 10,000 VND/time and the daily parking fee for cars is 30,000 VND/time (including VAT).

Port entry and exit fees for passengers (according to Circular No. 39 dated December 25, 2023 of the Ministry of Transport): VND 35,000/passenger for each trip (entry or exit). This is the port fee for passengers entering and leaving the port, collected by Saigon Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company (port owner) according to the Notice dated May 16, 2024.
Regarding the fee for taxis and cars entering and leaving the port, Saigon Hiep Phuoc Port Joint Stock Company has agreed to support a 50% reduction in port entry and exit service fees for taxis and cars entering and leaving the port in the first 3 months of operation (May, June, July 2024).

At the Saigon Hiep Phuoc port area, there is also a Green Taxi service to serve passengers when needed. In addition, other Taxi companies can enter the port to pick up and drop off passengers when needed.

According to Mr. Vu Van Khuong - General Director of Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company (Phu Quoc Express - investor of the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route), Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port was previously an international cargo port and the passenger transport function has only recently been added. Therefore, passenger service work is being implemented by the units.
“In the immediate future, we have worked with the Port leadership and the Port has agreed to support the permission for Green Taxis to enter the wharf to pick up and drop off passengers. We have also worked with Green Taxis so that every time a ship returns to the port, Green Taxis will arrange the number of vehicles to ensure the transportation of passengers as requested,” said Mr. Khuong.
For people traveling from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport suggests the following route: Central area of Ho Chi Minh City - Nguyen Huu Tho street - street number 1 - Dong Dien bridge - street number 14 - street number 11 - street D3 - Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port.

Currently, the units have installed the above-mentioned route signs at some road locations to help people easily travel from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the Saigon - Hiep Phuoc port location.
