On the afternoon of July 18th, regarding the video of a girl in Hau Giang being brutally beaten by a man and a woman, a source from VietNamNet reported that the remaining suspect had surrendered to the Vi Thanh City Police on July 17th. This suspect is Truong Thanh Thien (21 years old, residing in Ward 7, Vi Thanh City), the husband of the accused Vo Thien Kim (19 years old). Both have been charged by the investigative police with "Intentional infliction of injury".
As reported, on July 11th, at the Hau Giang province's press briefing for the first six months of 2023, Colonel Nguyen Van Gia, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, informed that the investigative agency had initiated a case and indicted Vo Thien Kim for the crime of "Intentional infliction of injury".
However, because the suspect Kim is eight months pregnant, the police released her on bail.

“As of now, suspect Thien has fled. If he is not apprehended next week, the investigating agency will issue an arrest warrant. The police's stance is to handle this case seriously,” the Deputy Director of Hau Giang Provincial Police shared.
Previously, a video surfaced on social media showing a large young man repeatedly punching a girl in the face. A woman in a black shirt, holding a helmet, approached and repeatedly hit the girl on the head with the helmet while speaking to her. The girl who was being assaulted could only explain and apologize.
Upon verification, the incident occurred around 9:30 PM on July 3rd. The girl, D.TTL (19 years old, residing in Long My town), was staying at a guesthouse in Ward 4, Vi Thanh City.
At this time, Truong Thanh Thien and Vo Thien Kim arrived at the aforementioned guesthouse and called L. out to meet them. When the two sides met, the two suspects, Thien and Kim, used helmets and their hands to brutally beat L., causing injuries. The incident was filmed and disseminated online.
Following the incident, the Vi Thanh City Police Department conducted an investigation and summoned those involved for questioning. The forensic examination revealed that the victim, L., sustained 6% injuries.
