According to a VNA correspondent in South Korea, lawmaker Han Zee A made the statement as the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) prepares to make a new move to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol over the martial law declaration on December 3 at a plenary session of the National Assembly scheduled for December 14 after the impeachment vote failed on December 7 because most PPP lawmakers boycotted the vote.

According to South Korean law, at least two-thirds of the National Assembly (200/300 members) need to vote to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol, and the move requires the support of at least eight PPP lawmakers in addition to all opposition lawmakers. Therefore, only one more PPP lawmaker needs to vote in favor of the vote for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol to pass.
