Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong presented the certificate of recognition of the Han Nom documents of Truong Luu village as a documentary heritage of the Memory of the World Program in the Asia-Pacific region to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and the local government of Can Loc.
Proud of our ancestors' "treasure"
The ceremony to celebrate the 310th anniversary of the birth of the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh (1713 - 2023), the 280th anniversary of the birth of the famous Nguyen Huy Tu (1743 - 2023), the 240th anniversary of the birth of the famous Nguyen Huy Ho (1783 - 2023) and to receive the Certificate of recognition of the Han Nom Documents of Truong Luu village as a documentary heritage of the World Memory Program in the Asia - Pacific region was solemnly held by the Provincial People's Committee this morning (June 24) at the Ha Tinh Cultural - Cinema Center.

In a very solemn and sacred atmosphere, everyone was filled with pride. Professor, Academician Nguyen Huy Hoang (Moscow, Russian Federation) expressed: “The ceremony to celebrate the Nguyen Huy family and receive the UNESCO Certificate of recognition of the Han Nom Documents of Truong Luu village heritage is an event of extremely special significance to me personally and the people of Can Loc as well as Ha Tinh. I feel very excited and proud when the cultural heritage of our ancestors is honored by UNESCO and the authorities at all levels organize a very solemn reception ceremony”.

The ceremony opened with a lively and profound art program. With the folk song suite “Rang sang dat hoc Truong Luu”, artists and actors of Ha Tinh Traditional Art Theater recreated the historical development of a studious village, the birthplace of famous people who made the homeland of Hong Mountain and La River shine on the map of Vietnam.
The art program recreates the image of the scholars of the ancient Truong Luu examination village.
That was the Third Prize Winner Nguyen Huy Oanh (1713 - 1789), one of the most prominent celebrities who contributed to the reputation of the village of mandarinate and culture. He was the one who "gave birth" to Phuc Giang Library and Truong Luu School - the village school second only to Quoc Tu Giam in the capital during a period of monarchy. Here, thousands of scholars from Thang Long to Hoan Chau studied and passed the regional, national and royal examinations from the 18th century to the early 20th century.
That was Nguyen Huy Tu (1743-1790), the eldest son of Nguyen Huy Oanh, who was not only talented in strategy but also contributed greatly to the glory of Phuc Giang Library and Truong Luu School, leaving behind the literary work Hoa Tien, famous for posterity. The famous Nguyen Huy Ho (1783 - 1841) - one of the outstanding sons of Nguyen Huy Tu, in addition to being famous for his outstanding work in medicine and geography, he also left behind a valuable literary work "Mai Dinh Mong Ky"...
Not only recreating the Truong Luu cultural space with the once brilliant land of learning and poetry, the art program also brings the audience into a Hong mountain and La river countryside of today, with the inheritance of the ancestors' culture, steadfastness in the struggle to protect the Fatherland, strong creativity in building an increasingly rich and beautiful homeland. Multiplying the pride in the cultural values of the ancestors and the desire to cultivate and build.
The space for singing Vi Phuong Vai in the old Truong Luu village was recreated in the welcoming art program.
Ms. Tran Thu Giang (Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi) said: “Attending the anniversary, I understand more clearly about the history and cultural values that generations of Ha Tinh people have created. I admire and am more proud of the people and culture of the homeland of Hong Son and La, including the famous people of Truong Luu village. After the celebration, the procession of the certificate of recognition of the Han Nom Text of Truong Luu Village as a documentary heritage of the Asia-Pacific Memory of the World Program recognized by UNESCO was also solemnly held. On the nearly 27 km journey from Ha Tinh City to Truong Luu Village (Kim Song Truong Commune, Can Loc), the procession marched in the presence and excitement of thousands of Ha Tinh people. Notably, at the pick-up point of the procession in Kim Song Truong Commune, along with colorful flags and banners, hundreds of people were present very early, joyfully waiting for the certificate of recognition to return to their homeland.
Mr. Dao Quyen Truong - Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) expressed: “I witnessed the pride on the faces of the people of Ha Tinh in general and the people of Kim Song Truong in particular. That shows the awareness of cherishing and preserving the heritage left by their ancestors of the people of Ha Tinh. Together with the Han Nom documents of Truong Luu village and the famous people of the Nguyen Huy family honored today, Ha Tinh is possessing an endless "treasure" of cultural heritage that not every land has. The people of Ha Tinh have the right to be proud and use that treasure as an internal strength to build their homeland in the new context".

The leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also suggested to Ha Tinh province the direction to exploit the soft power of the heritage of Truong Luu village in the future such as: Early planning of Truong Luu Cultural Village, mobilizing resources, having a master plan for research, inventory, collection, promoting the application of digital transformation, focusing on exploiting, preserving and promoting the values of tangible and intangible cultural heritage and documentary heritage; the clans and owners of heritage management uphold their responsibilities, promote the traditions of this land of talented people, continue to join hands and contribute with the State to protect and exploit effectively and scientifically the treasure of cultural heritage, considering it a source of pride and honor, a great responsibility of each citizen towards the homeland.
Children of Truong Luu hometown who have returned from far away, waiting for the moment to receive the Certificate of recognition of the cultural heritage of Han Nom documents of Truong Luu village being brought back to the locality.
Along with Han Nom documents, Truong Luu village, Ha Tinh currently owns 5 cultural heritages and famous people that have been honored by UNESCO such as: Ca Tru, Vi folk songs, Giam Nghe Tinh, Phuc Giang School Woodblocks, Hoang Hoa Su Trinh Do, Great Poet Nguyen Du. Currently, the Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac has been proposed by the Vietnamese State to be honored by UNESCO (expected in 2024). In addition, the whole province currently has more than 1,800 historical and cultural relics and scenic spots, including 2 special national relics, 86 national relics and 550 provincial relics. This is the endogenous strength, the driving force for Ha Tinh people through the periods to constantly strive to rise up.

Thinking about the values of the cultural heritage of Truong Luu village and the huge "treasure" of the cultural heritage of the homeland of Hong mountain and La river left by the previous generation, everyone has more confidence in the policies of the Party and State in applying culture to the current development of the country.

The event of commemorating the birth anniversary of the Nguyen Huy family and receiving the Certificate of recognition of Nom heritage of Truong Luu village has once again highlighted the traditional cultural values of Ha Tinh; aroused the strong aspirations of the residents of the Hong - Song La mountainous area; affirmed that the cultural heritage of Truong Luu village in particular and the cultural tradition of Ha Tinh in general are endless treasures, the strength for new creations in the homeland of Ha Tinh today and tomorrow...
