TPO - On April 25, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism announced and awarded the Decision to recognize the Military Zone 7 Museum (Southeastern Armed Forces Museum) as a tourist destination in Ho Chi Minh City. On this occasion, the Military Zone 7 Museum also organized an exhibition on Dien Bien Phu.
Located in Ho Chi Minh City and the only museum in Vietnam belonging to the World Peace Museum system, the Military Zone 7 Museum has the role of researching, collecting, preserving, displaying and introducing documents and artifacts of historical, cultural and scientific value, reflecting the process of building and fighting the maturity of the army and people of the Southeast region in the cause of national liberation, national unification, building and defending the Fatherland.
Currently, with a total area of about 17,500m2 and more than 5,000 artifacts including documents and images, the Military Region 7 Museum has many exhibition areas with contents such as: Armed Forces of Military Region 7 in the resistance war against France (1945 - 1954); Armed Forces of Military Region 7 in the resistance war against America (1954 - 1975); Armed Forces of Military Region 7 in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and performing international duties (1975 - present).

In addition, the Museum also has an outdoor exhibition area: introducing weapons used by the people and army of the Southeast region in the two resistance wars and weapons captured from the French colonialists, American imperialists and their henchmen; images, documents and reconstructions of some typical historical-revolutionary relics of the Southeast region.
Opened to visitors since May 1990, up to now, the Military Region 7 Museum has welcomed millions of visitors to visit and learn about the brave and indomitable fighting process of the army and people of the Southeast region during the periods of resistance against the French, the Americans and performing noble international duties in the neighboring country of Cambodia.

The images, artifacts, documents... carrying the breath of history, recording the painful moments as well as the heroic moments of the nation, recording all the marks of the simple but resilient people of the Southeast who won in the struggles have become "red addresses" in the work of educating traditions, passing on the revolutionary flame to the younger generation.

According to the assessment of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, with the recognition of a new tourist destination in Ho Chi Minh City, the Military Zone 7 Museum will not only be a destination for Ho Chi Minh City residents but also be chosen by travel and tourism companies to include in their tourism products, attracting more domestic and foreign tourists to visit and learn about the indomitable spirit, bravely standing up to fight foreign invaders, and unifying the country of the army and people of the Southeast region.
On the occasion of being recognized as a tourist destination in Ho Chi Minh City, commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) and the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South - National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), the Military Zone 7 Museum held the opening ceremony of an exhibition called "Military Zone 7 - Continuing the heroic epic". The exhibition introduced to viewers more than 200 valuable artifacts, images, and documents about the Dien Bien Phu Victory, about the resistance war against the US, saving the country of the army and people of the Southeast region and the tradition of the armed forces of Military Zone 7.
The exhibition "Military Region 7 - Continuing the epic" will last until May 30.
