Speaking at the Egyptian Defence Exhibition (EDX), Deputy Minister Tufekci affirmed that Egypt is a long-standing and friendly partner of Turkey. According to him, bilateral relations had stalled due to some political developments, but "a revival is about to happen again."
Relations between Türkiye and Egypt are showing signs of improvement after the two sides appointed ambassadors for the first time in 10 years.
Deputy Minister Tufekci said that 23 Turkish companies had opened booths at EDEX. In addition, 10 other businesses participated in the event but did not set up exhibition booths.
Ankara highly values Cairo and is seeking opportunities to transfer defense industry capabilities to Egypt, thereby using this as a springboard to reach other African countries.
He emphasized that “great opportunities” await Türkiye and Egypt in the fields of naval power, munitions manufacturing, mechanized equipment, drones, manned vehicles, and aircraft.
