Add digital marketplace for cooperatives to participate

On April 11 (Vietnam Cooperative Day), the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance officially launched the VCAMart Online Product Market. This is the gateway for cooperatives to access the digital market. For provincial cooperatives, incentives from this commercial market will actively support cooperatives to exchange, learn and promote consumption nationwide.

According to information from the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, VCAMart operates on the principle of “three no’s”, which means no transaction fees, no commission fees, and no technological barriers. As long as there is a computer or smartphone, the cooperative can reach customers and expand its sales channels at any time. In addition, VCAMart also integrates cashless payment features, connects with shipping units and store management tools for the convenience of customers in the digital age. VCAMart also connects with local e-commerce platforms, both helping to increase business opportunities for cooperatives and promoting the development of a resonant e-commerce ecosystem…

According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Chuong, Director of Dong Din Agricultural and General Trading Cooperative (Phu Hoa district), the products of the cooperative are available on many e-commerce channels such as the national e-commerce platform (buudien.vn), Vipomall of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, shopee... Over time, due to cost issues (maintenance fees, commissions, transportation...), the cooperative currently only focuses on participating in the province's electronic channels and channels specializing in agricultural products. VCAMart was born with many incentives for collective economic units, which will support the cooperative's products to continue participating in the big playground.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, Director of Hoa Phong Agricultural Service Cooperative (Tay Hoa district) said: The cooperative's silkworm wine product has just been recognized by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance as one of the 100 products nationwide to win the first Mai An Tiem award in 2024. This is an opportunity for the cooperative's products to be present on the VCAMart floor. "Cooperatives have little capital, small production scale, and weak product commercialization capacity. In particular, the ability to apply digital technology in cooperatives is not yet synchronized. All of these are barriers for cooperatives when participating in the digital market, so participating in the digital trade market with the majority of cooperatives will help cooperatives in particular and cooperatives in the province in general have more opportunities to learn and improve their capacity in product trade management," Mr. Dong added.

According to the Provincial Cooperative Alliance, also in April, the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment (under the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance) will organize in-depth training on operating the VCAMart Online Product Market for cooperative officials and cooperative alliances of provinces and cities, helping units operate more effectively and professionally in the digital business environment. VCAMart will contribute to promoting digitalization in the collective economic sector, supporting cooperatives to access modern markets, improving product consumption capacity, and promoting the spirit of self-reliance and innovation for integration.
