3 more banks reduce deposit interest rates

BIDV Bank has just announced a further 0.1 percentage point reduction in deposit interest rates for terms from 1-11 months.

Thus, in the online interest rate table of this bank, the term of 1-2 months is 2.6%/year, 3-5 months is 3%/year, 6-11 months is 4%/year. Previously, BIDV had reduced the interest rate twice in December, this is the third time this month that this bank has reduced the interest rate.

Currently, BIDV's interest rate schedule is no different from VietinBank's. Despite further reductions, BIDV's deposit interest rate is still not the lowest compared to Vietcombank and SCB. Accordingly, the 1-2 month deposit interest rate at Vietcombank and SCB is only 2.2%/year.

Also this morning, Techcombank announced a second reduction in deposit interest rates for terms from 3-36 months. The 3-5 month term decreased by 0.1 percentage point to 3.45%/year, the 6-8 month term decreased by 0.2 percentage point to 4.45%/year, the 9-11 month term decreased by 0.2 percentage point to 4.5%/year, and the 12-36 month term decreased by 0.1 percentage point to 4.75%/year.

PVCombank has also just made a move to reduce interest rates, with terms from 1-36 months all reduced by 0.3%/year. Specifically, interest rates for terms from 1-5 months are only 3.35%/year, 6-11 months are 5.3%/year and 12 months are reduced to 5.4%/year.

Interest rates for terms from 18-36 months officially fell below the 6% threshold after being reduced to 5.7%/year.

Thus, since the beginning of January 15 until now, the following banks have reduced deposit interest rates: ABBank, BIDV, Eximbank, HDBank, Kien Long Bank, Nam A Bank, MBBank, MSB, PGBank, PVCombank, Techcombank, TPBank, VIB, Vietcombank and VPBank.
