Another Thai Nguyen tea product won a high prize at the international tea competition

The Golden Leaf Awards is Australia’s only professional tea competition, celebrating the finest teas with live judging by experts from around the world . The awards recognise and promote high-quality teas available globally and particularly in Australia. The awards include 13 categories, including: White Tea, Green Tea, Yellow Tea, Oolong Tea, Matcha Tea, Black Tea, Pu-erh Tea, Herbal Tea, Milk Tea…

The 2024 competition had 683 tea samples from around the world participating. Vietnam submitted 122 samples from 20 units, competing in six categories: Black tea, Green tea, Oolong tea, White tea, Scented tea and Fermented tea cake. Assessed by the Organizing Committee as meeting world standards in quality, Vietnam won 50 awards from tea products, including 20 Gold awards, 17 Silver awards, 11 Bronze awards and 2 Encouragement awards. Of which, Phu Do Safe Tea Cooperative, which submitted a product to the competition for the first time, was awarded a Bronze award for its dried tea buds in the Green Tea category.

Phu Do Safe Tea Cooperative (Phu Do Commune, Phu Luong District) was established in 2022, and has built over 10.3 hectares of raw tea according to VietGAP standards, nearly 5 hectares according to organic production standards. This is also the first unit of the tea industry in the North in general and Thai Nguyen province in particular to be highly appreciated by the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development (formerly under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), Sorimachi Vietnam Company for its digital transformation results in organic agricultural production, and is the only unit of the Vietnamese tea industry to be honored at the TOP Industry 4.0 Vietnam - Industrie 4.0 Awards for the third time in 2024, in Hanoi.
It is expected that the Vietnam Tea Association will hold the award ceremony in April 2025.
