Recently, doctors at Cam Khe District Medical Center, Phu Tho said they had received and treated a male patient (75 years old, in Phu Tho) with a secondary brain tumor, the underlying cause of which was late-stage lung cancer .
It is known that the patient had a history of good health and played sports regularly. In the past 3 days, the patient noticed that the left side of his body was weaker, so he went to Cam Khe District Medical Center for examination.

According to the patient, except for the symptom of weakness in the left side of the body, everything was normal for the patient. However, after examination, the doctors suspected that the patient had a stroke, so they ordered a CT scan of the brain.
The scan results showed: The brain parenchyma in the right temporal region had a mass of increased density measuring 45x55 mm, with clear boundaries, the mass compressed the right lateral ventricle and pushed the midline to the left.
Too surprised by the scan results, the family asked not to do any further tests and immediately transferred to K Hospital. Here, the doctors concluded that the brain tumor was only secondary, the underlying cause stemming from late-stage lung cancer.
Through the above case, the doctor said that the disease progresses unpredictably, what is necessary now is for people to change their perspective: "Instead of just going to the doctor when sick, we need to have regular health check-ups" to detect and treat diseases early if any.

According to stroke experts, the main cause of hemiplegia or weakness is due to stroke (cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction), in addition, traumatic brain injury is also a cause of hemiplegia.
In addition, some other causes of hemiplegia but less acute, include:
- Tumors, abscesses, brain lesions
- Disease that destroys the sheath surrounding nerve cells
- Vascular complications due to viral or bacterial infection
- Encephalitis
- Infectious disease caused by poliovirus (polio virus)
- Motor neuron disorders in the spinal cord, brainstem and cerebral cortex.
