Tourism promotion program with the theme Magnificent Border Journey - Charming Chongzuo Tourism

The program was attended by more than 100 travel businesses belonging to the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club (HUTC), along with tourism businesses in Chongzuo city.

This is not only a regular tourism promotion event but also opens a new direction for border tourism - a field with great potential but still not exploited adequately between Vietnam and China.

Tourism - a cultural bridge and economic cooperation between two countries

Speaking at the event, Mr. Tuc Gia Nghe, Vice Chairman of Chongzuo City, emphasized: "2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam (1950-2025), and is also the Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange."

“This is a valuable opportunity for the two countries to promote traditional friendship, enhance policy exchanges, coordinate to promote border tourism and build a China-Vietnam tourism belt,” said Mr. Tuc Gia Nghe.

According to Mr. Tuc Gia Nghe, Chongzuo has a diverse tourism ecosystem, from world cultural heritages such as: Hoa Son murals along the Ta Giang river and the Frost Festival of the Zhuang people; to Dien Vien Minh Si, Huu Nghi Quan...

In addition, the convenient transportation system is being strongly upgraded, notably the Nanning - Pingxiang high-speed railway, expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Chongzuo has a convenient transportation system and is the city with the most border gates in China, with 4 international border gates and 1 bilateral border gate.

Sung Ta also owns a system of high-quality facilities and services including 353 hotels and motels applying modern technology systems and smart tourism applications, creating favorable conditions for tourists to explore and experience.

HUTC Chairman Truong Quoc Hung commented: “Chongzuo is an important gateway, both a trade hub and a cultural and tourism corridor between the two countries. With majestic natural landscapes, unique cultural identity and increasingly modern service infrastructure, Chongzuo is emerging as a potential destination for Vietnamese tourists.”

More than 100 Vietnamese tourism businesses within the framework of the program had a survey trip from April 17 to 20, visiting typical destinations such as: The secret agency relic of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Long Chau - a vivid evidence of the close resistance relationship between the two Parties and two peoples; Hoa Son mural landscape; Thien Cam Choang ethnic village; Duc Thien landscape area (China) - Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) and Thai Binh ancient town with the ancient appearance of the border region.

Opportunities for border tourism development

The highlight of this program is the clear connection between tourism and the border economy. Huu Nghi Border Gate (Lang Son) is not only a major transit point for goods but also a “gateway” for developing cross-border tourism.

With China adopting an e-visa policy for Vietnamese citizens and expanding cross-border tourist bus routes, cross-border tourism is becoming a new trend.

In particular, the Ban Gioc Waterfall (Vietnam) - Detian (China) scenic area has long been recognized as a symbol of peace and cooperation. The recent agreement between the two sides to jointly exploit and open the area to tourists has set a good precedent.

Joint exploitation of scenic areas can open up a model of transnational heritage management cooperation, not only helping to attract international tourists but also spreading the message of peace and mutual development between the two countries.

Not only stopping at experiencing nature, Ban Gioc - Duc Thien and the border areas are also associated with "red heritages" of great historical value, where President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese revolutionaries once worked, such as Long Chau relic site or places in the Red Journey.

The two countries' continued coordination in restoring, preserving and connecting "red heritage" sites will help raise historical awareness among young people and create in-depth educational and source tourism products.

Towards the Vietnam - China border tourism belt

With a long-term vision, the formation of a "Vietnam-China border tourism belt" is gradually becoming a reality.

This not only requires cooperation at the local level but also requires a flexible open-door policy from the two governments, including: Facilitating immigration procedures, coordinating border control and inspection; developing railway routes, intermodal tourist buses and especially bilateral tourism programs with the participation of businesses from both countries.

Sharing with the press, many HUTC businesses highly appreciated the field survey and proposed developing inter-line products such as:   A Day Across Borders   from Lang Son to Sung Ta; tour   Two countries - One waterfall   connecting Ban Gioc - Duc Thien and cultural - culinary caravan routes from Hanoi to Nanning, Bang Tuong, Sung Ta. In addition, exploiting the routes more deeply   Journey to find Ho Chi Minh's footprints - China - Vietnam Friendship   and   Journey of dual heritage Vietnam - China .

HUTC representative affirmed: “We are committed to continuing to accompany Chinese partners to promote, develop and develop creative tourism products, contributing to increasing the number of visitors through Huu Nghi border gate and promoting sustainable border trade cooperation”.

Not stopping at the number of tourists, programs like   The magnificent frontier journey   It is also an opportunity to deepen understanding, trust and cooperation between the two peoples.

When tourism is placed in the context of cultural, historical, economic and political trust, it is not only a service industry but also a sustainable human bridge between two neighboring countries.

With a close historical foundation, a closely connected transportation system, and rich border tourism potential, the Vietnam - China tourism corridor is gradually being opened up.

The doors opening from Huu Nghi border gate, from Ban Gioc waterfall (Vietnam) - Duc Thien (China) not only welcome visitors, but are also symbols of a future of cooperation and development together.
