On June 9, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had a working session with the specialized electricity inspection team to specifically deploy the requirements, content and time of the inspection.
This meeting is to implement the Prime Minister's direction in Official Dispatch No. 517/CD-TTg dated June 6, 2023 on implementing solutions to ensure electricity supply in the dry season of 2023 and the coming time, in which the Minister of Industry and Trade is assigned to direct the establishment of a specialized inspection team in accordance with the provisions of law on electricity management and supply of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) from January 1, 2021 to June 1, 2023.
According to Decision No. 1377/QD-BCT dated June 8, 2023 of the Minister of Industry and Trade, the specialized inspection team includes leaders of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority, the Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment, the Legal Department, the Ministry Inspectorate, the Department of Planning and Finance, and the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal.
Implementing the Prime Minister's direction, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien requested the Inspection Team to clarify the supply and proactive provision of fuel for power plants; operation of the power system; mobilization of power sources (technically), fairness; power transmission issues; and mobilization of transitional renewable energy sources.
"The inspection team needs to conduct the inspection urgently and decisively within 30 days, including holidays" - Minister Nguyen Hong Dien directed, and assigned the Chief Inspector of the Ministry, the Director of the Electricity Regulatory Authority, and the Director of the Legal Department to directly supervise the inspection team to have accurate and objective conclusions. Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan was assigned to directly direct this inspection on behalf of the Minister.
The Minister noted that because the Inspection Team carried out the work in a short time, worked continuously even on holidays, and had a large workload, it was necessary to increase human resources in both quantity and quality to ensure that they could meet the work requirements.
The officers participating in the Inspection Team need to give high priority to the work. Urgently develop an inspection plan and report outline. Along with establishing the Inspection Team, it is also necessary to establish an Inspection Supervision Team. The Inspection Team needs to start working immediately from June 10th," Mr. Nguyen Hong Dien directed.
