Realizing this, over the years Thanh Tan commune has always paid attention to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Thai ethnic group.
Through practical research, it is known that the Black Thai people in Thanh Tan commune still preserve many typical living habits, from house customs to lifestyle. Thai language is commonly used in daily activities. Traditional costumes are used by people during holidays and Tet.
Currently, 13 villages of the commune have Thai ethnic people living and have established art troupes. In addition to practicing performing art programs for the village, commune and district on holidays, New Year and anniversaries, the troupes also pass on to the younger generation the folk songs and dances of the ethnic people.
In addition, the Thai people in Thanh Tan commune also preserve and promote the brocade weaving craft. Currently, more and more young people in the commune know how to weave brocade. To maintain and develop the weaving craft, in 2023, the commune coordinated with functional units to open a weaving class, with 60 students participating. Many households in the area have purchased weaving looms to both preserve the traditional craft and produce goods.
The above results were achieved because the commune has promoted propaganda, education and promotion of the good and unique values of the traditional culture of the Thai ethnic group. It has focused on promoting the role of prestigious people in propagating and mobilizing the younger generation to preserve and promote the national cultural identity. It has supported the villages with funds to repair the village cultural houses and purchase equipment so that people have a place for cultural and sports activities.
Chairman of Thanh Tan Commune People's Committee Tran Thanh Kien said: Although the life of Thai ethnic people in the commune is still difficult, people always raise awareness of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
In order for the traditional culture of the ethnic people to have a strong influence, in the coming time, the commune will continue to support the renovation of the cultural house and purchase musical instruments, ethnic costumes, organize cultural and artistic exchange activities to honor the cultural identity of the Thai ethnic people. Especially, pay attention to the lives of artisans so that they have more motivation to convey traditional cultural values to the younger generation.
