Yen Bai City: Industrial production value in the first quarter increased by 9.1%

In the first quarter of 2025, the industrial production value in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated to reach over 1,400 billion VND, an increase of 9.1% over the same period in 2024, equal to 25.3% of the target of Action Program No. 246 of the Provincial Party Committee.

According to the report of Yen Bai City People's Committee, industrial production and trade activities in the province in March 2025 continued to maintain a good growth rate. Industrial production remained stable; trade activities were bustling due to many consumer stimulus programs.
Enterprises, industrial production establishments, and small-scale handicrafts basically maintained stable production and business. The industrial production value in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated at over VND 1,400 billion, up 9.1% over the same period in 2024, equal to 25.3% of the target of Action Program No. 246 of the Provincial Party Committee.
In particular, the output of some main products such as: plywood reached 5,580m3, up 6.7%; wooden chopsticks 3.3 million pieces, up 9.8%; plywood 14,980m3, up 5.5%; plastic wall panels reached 395 tons, up 12.9%...
Trade and service activities have developed steadily, meeting people's needs. Accordingly, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue (including transportation and postal and telecommunications) in the first quarter reached VND5,833 billion, up 11.7% over the same period, equal to 25.4% of the city's plan.
Of which, total retail sales of goods reached 3,785 billion VND, up 8.9%. Wholesale revenue of goods in the first quarter reached 3,015 billion VND, up 8.3% over the same period. The value of exported goods in the first quarter was estimated at 26.8 million USD, up 9.4%, equal to 15.8% of the target of the Provincial Party Committee's Action Program 246. The import value in the area reached 14.1 million USD.
In the coming time, Yen Bai city will continue to implement Resolution No. 29/NQ-TU dated February 24, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing Yen Bai province's industry in a sustainable, effective and environmentally friendly direction for the period 2021 - 2025. Coordinate to attract and closely manage investment projects in industrial parks and clusters in the area. Focus on attracting investment to implement the Hop Minh industrial cluster infrastructure investment project, continue to attract investment in Au Lau industrial cluster associated with urging enterprises in Au Lau industrial cluster to speed up project progress and put into operation...

In the field of trade and services, the city continues to effectively implement Resolution No. 19-NQ/TU dated January 22, 2021 of the City Party Committee on "Developing the city's trade and services in a professional and modern direction, promoting rapid and sustainable urban economic growth in the period of 2021 - 2025". Focus on investing in synchronous development of commercial infrastructure, especially the system of supermarkets, restaurants, and hotels.
Promote the development of e-commerce and non-cash payment methods, strive for the rate of adults using non-cash payment methods to reach 88% in 2025, an increase of 3% compared to 2024; the rate of retail business households with electronic payment devices to reach 95%, an increase of 2.3%. Continue to develop tours, tourist routes, tourism products: ecological, spiritual, strive for the number of tourists to the city to reach 170 thousand people, revenue from tourism activities to reach 160 billion VND.
