Speaking at the opening of the session, Mr. Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council emphasized: Organizing a vote of confidence for people holding positions elected by the Vinh City People's Council is an important supervisory method of the City People's Council, contributing to assessing the prestige and results of performing assigned tasks and powers of the person being voted on; helping the person being voted on to see the level of trust to continue to strive, practice, improve the quality and efficiency of work; serving as a basis for considering planning, training, fostering, arranging and using appropriate cadres.
The Chairman of the Vinh City People's Council proposed that, based on the report of the person who is being voted for, combined with information from grasping public opinion, feedback from voters and the People, along with the process of monitoring and supervision by individuals, the City People's Council delegates need to uphold their responsibility and constructive spirit to conduct a vote of confidence for the positions elected by the City People's Council in a fair, objective and accurate manner.
The vote of confidence for the person holding the position elected or approved by the City People's Council is carried out in accordance with Resolution No. 96/2023/QH15, dated June 23, 2023 of the National Assembly, in the form of secret ballot.
At the 10th session, 35 delegates of the City People's Council directly voted for confidence in 23 people holding positions elected or approved by the City People's Council belonging to the two blocs of the City People's Council and People's Committee.
The City People's Council bloc consists of 4 people: Chairman and Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Head of the Economic - Social Committee and Head of the Legal Committee of the City People's Council.
The City People's Committee consists of 19 people: Chairman and 4 Vice Chairmen of the City People's Committee; 14 members of the City People's Committee are heads of departments, branches, and city level.
After voting and counting, the City People's Council voted to pass a Resolution confirming the results of the vote of confidence for the position holder elected by the 22nd Vinh City People's Council, term 2021-2026.
