At the meeting, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai welcomed Mr. Ricardo Valente's visit; believing that this is a premise for many new projects and cooperation activities between the two sides in the coming time, contributing to the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two cities signed in 2023. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City is a special urban area, the economic and cultural locomotive of the whole country, tourism is also a key industry. Therefore, the leaders of the City People's Committee hope that tourism and travel companies of both sides will promote contact, share experiences in product development, and promote tourism. In particular, with the advantages and potential of historical and cultural relics, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai hopes that Porto will call on businesses to support, share experiences, and transfer technology in preserving and restoring heritage to Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, he said that in the coming time, Porto and Ho Chi Minh City can promote cooperation in tourism development. Currently, more and more Portuguese people are traveling to Vietnam. Porto City is located in the North of Portugal, although not having many advantages, Porto has cooperated with a Vietnamese airline company. Accordingly, the city can provide financial support to this company to promote tourism cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.In addition, the two cities can further promote cooperation in the economic field, with similarities in the structure and development orientation of local enterprises, especially in the field of innovation.
