Lao Cai City organizes workshop on human resource training and job creation

Attending the workshop were leaders of the Department of Continuing Education, General Department of Vocational Education, Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; Institute of Sociology and Development, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Standing Committee of the City Party Committee; representatives of a number of departments and offices under the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; representatives of a number of agencies, units, and vocational training facilities in the province and city.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Comrade Doan Ngoc Tuyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, emphasized: The workshop will serve as a basis for the City Party Committee to issue directive documents to strengthen the leadership of the Party Committee, the government and the entire city's political system in vocational training, job creation, creating highly skilled human resources, contributing to socio-economic development and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 23rd City Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.

Comrade Doan Ngoc Tuyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee delivered the opening speech at the workshop.

In recent times, the city Party Committee has issued many policies, plans, and organized the implementation of vocational training tasks, job creation, and creation of high-quality human resources closely linked to national target programs. In 2023, the rate of trained workers in the city will reach 87.8%; the rate of workers in the agricultural sector will decrease to 19.3%. Every year, support will be given to creating new jobs for over 2,500 workers...

Representative of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department spoke about the Provincial Party Committee's policy on vocational training, job creation, and creating highly skilled human resources.

Within the framework of the workshop, there were 22 contents presented by leaders, scientists, and managers from the Central, provincial, and municipal levels. Some typical contents included: The Party's viewpoints on vocational training, job creation, and creation of highly skilled human resources for mountainous areas in line with the city's reality; building a labor market for the city; the Provincial Party Committee's policies, mechanisms, and specific policies on vocational training, job creation, and creation of highly skilled human resources; the role of State management in vocational training, job creation, and creation of highly skilled human resources in the city, period 2014 - 2024; solutions in vocational training and job creation in the city today...

Dr. Nguyen Van Dang, Institute of Sociology and Development, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics spoke at the workshop.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing, debating, and clarifying some basic issues related to experience and solutions to strengthen the Party's leadership in vocational training, job creation, and creating highly skilled human resources in the city.

The Vice Principal of the Provincial Political School spoke at a workshop on issues arising in vocational training and employment in Lao Cai city.

Delegates from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs presented a paper on the province's preferential mechanisms and policies in vocational training and job creation.

The workshop is one of the activities to specify the tasks of work in 2024, at the same time summarize the practice, research theory on vocational training, job creation, and create highly skilled human resources in the city.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Long, Chairman of the Provincial Business Association, discussed the role of enterprises in supporting and creating jobs for workers in the province.

Speaking at the workshop, Comrade Doan Ngoc Tuyen, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, requested all levels, sectors and localities in the city to continue promoting leadership, direction and the role of the head; closely coordinate between departments, offices and sectors to effectively carry out vocational training and job creation tasks; focus on improving the quality of human resource training and vocational training, contributing to local socio-economic development.
