Accordingly, on April 4-5, 2025, all agencies and offices in the city will fly flags at half-mast to express condolences and commemorate the outstanding leader of Laos. The flag will be flown at half-mast according to regulations, with a mourning band 1/10 the width of the flag, the length of the flag and only flying the flag to 2/3 the height of the flagpole.

The city also requested to stop all public entertainment activities during the National Funeral; including postponing art programs, sports competitions...

The State funeral of comrade Khamtay Siphandone was held in accordance with Decree No. 105/2012/ND-CP of the Vietnamese Government on funerals for officials, civil servants and public employees, as well as in accordance with the directive from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This event demonstrates the strong friendship between Vietnam and Laos, and at the same time recognizes the great contributions of comrade Khamtay Siphandone in strengthening and developing the relationship between the two countries.

Hue City People's Committee calls on all agencies, units and people in the area to strictly implement regulations during the National Funeral.

Comrade Khamtay Siphandone is one of the outstanding leaders of Laos, playing an important role in the construction and development of the country. Under his leadership, the Lao People's Democratic Republic has achieved many important achievements in the fields of politics, economy and society. He is also known for his great contributions to strengthening the friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
