Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant Colonel Ho Dac Quoc, Deputy Commander of Hue City Military Command; representatives of Phong Dien town, Huong Tra town and Quang Dien district; leaders of communes and wards in Phong Dien area, along with more than 100 veterans and relatives of martyrs' families, families of veterans of unit K10.

Battalion 810, under the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Military Command, was established in late 1964. The battalion operated widely, from fighting the enemy in remote areas to advancing to the plains, holding out against enemy sweeps, building bases and coordinating with insurgent forces to attack the enemy. During the 1968 Tet Offensive, Battalion 810 coordinated with Division 324 and other units to liberate and firmly hold the position in Hue City for 26 days and nights. During the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising, Battalion 10 was divided into 2 wings. The first wing coordinated with Group 4 (Phong Quang Group) to attack the enemy in Phong Dien and Quang Dien districts. The second wing coordinated with the special forces to attack the enemy in Huong Tra District Sub-region and directly attacked Hue City, liberating the homeland of Thua Thien Hue at 6:30 a.m. on March 26, 1975.

During more than 10 years of fighting on the fierce battlefield of Thua Thien Hue, 346 officers and soldiers of Battalion 810 heroically sacrificed their lives, remaining forever in their homeland of Thua Thien Hue when they were only eighteen or twenty years old.

Representatives of the Hue City Military Command, local leaders and veterans of Battalion 810 cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Memorial Stele.

To commemorate the heroic martyrs of Unit K10, the leaders of Phong Dien town have paid attention to supporting the land to build a memorial stele to record the names of the heroes and martyrs of the unit in Phong Son commune. The stele house was built on an area of ​​333m2 , of which the house to place the stele to record the names of the martyrs is 58m2, with a reinforced concrete structure, tiled roof, and brick floor. The total construction cost is 785 million VND, of which 465 million VND is contributed by veterans and families of K10 veterans. The remaining amount is supported by the localities of Phong Dien town, Huong Tra and Quang Dien district. After 4 months of construction, the project was completed on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The completion of the Memorial House for K10 Heroes and Martyrs is the wish and desire of K10 veterans and relatives of martyrs' families. This will also be a red thread for our surviving comrades and our descendants to learn about the heroic history of generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed their blood, bones, and youth for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
