Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi exchange experiences and comprehensive cooperation in all fields

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will continue to promote sharing and comprehensive cooperation in all fields in the 2023-2025 period and the following years; thereby promoting the two cities' mutual development.

On the afternoon of October 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee held a conference to exchange experiences in leadership and direction in implementing political tasks between the two cities and signed a Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation in all fields for the period 2023-2025 and the following years.

The two cities cooperate to develop and effectively exploit the potential and advantages of the two cities, contributing to the common cause of national construction and development, promoting the rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of the two localities.

Representatives of the Standing Committees of the two cities reported on the socio-economic development, Party building and political system in the two localities in the first 9 months of 2023.

Thereby, the economies of both localities recorded a fairly high growth rate, many indicators reached high levels; in the fields of culture-society, national defense-security, both localities ensured to maintain and organize many practical and effective activities, meeting the requirements and aspirations of the people; national defense and security work was ensured.

Besides, the work of Party building, political system and mass mobilization continued to be led and directed by the two localities and achieved many positive results.

The ideological situation of cadres and party members is stable, with absolute trust in the leadership, direction and administration of the Party Committee and government of the two cities.

The Party's inspection and supervision work has contributed to educating, shaping, and helping Party organizations and Party members to perceive and strictly comply with Party regulations, State policies and laws...

At the conference, the Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation in all fields for the 2023-2025 period and the following years between the two cities was signed.

Accordingly, the two localities promote cooperation in the following areas: Party building, political system; state management and mechanisms, policies; economy, trade and promotion, investment attraction; urban development, environmental protection; culture, sports and tourism; education and health; agriculture and rural development; defense, security; press, propaganda.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen sent his sincere thanks to the Party Committee, government and people of Hanoi for sharing, caring and providing material and spiritual support to the city, especially during the recent period of Covid-19 prevention and control.

At the same time, he congratulated Hanoi on its many important achievements in economic-cultural-social development, national security and defense during the half-term of the City Party Congress, especially the average economic growth of the capital being higher than the national average.

According to Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, in the context of favorable opportunities, difficulties, and common impacts posing similar challenges, connecting, cooperating, and supporting each other between the two cities is very important and necessary.

The conference was organized to help both sides exchange experiences in leadership, direction, operation, management, organization and implementation as well as share what has been done and what has not been done; together building a lasting relationship.

Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung emphasized: The conference is of great significance, an opportunity for the two cities to strengthen comprehensive development cooperation, promote potential and advantages to build a clean, strong Party and political system that operates effectively and efficiently; promote socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security; enhance information and exchange of experiences in areas that are strengths and interests of each locality to complement and support each other for mutual development.

According to comrade Dinh Tien Dung, Hanoi is pleased with the efforts, solutions and results achieved, as well as the goals that Ho Chi Minh City is aiming for; hoping that the Party Committee, the government, the entire army and the people of the city will continue to promote the revolutionary tradition of resilience, solidarity and creativity, strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, with the highest political determination to complete the tasks and targets of economic-cultural-social development and key tasks in Party building and government building, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 11th City Party Congress.
