Hanoi City strengthens connection and cooperation with Czech localities

From April 16-18, a working delegation led by Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council, visited and worked in the Czech Republic.

During the visit and working period in the Czech Republic, the delegation had meetings with Mayor of Cheb City Jan Vrba, Mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda; worked with leaders of the Vietnamese Association in Cheb City, leaders of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, leaders of the delegation of overseas Vietnamese businesses and experts; visited staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic and a number of economic and cultural establishments of overseas Vietnamese.

At the meetings, Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha emphasized that the visit of the Hanoi delegation aims to further strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, especially in the context of the two countries agreeing to upgrade their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to the Czech Republic in January. Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha was pleased with the good development of the traditional friendship between the two countries over the past decades, exchanging some cooperation orientations between Hanoi and Prague, as well as with other localities of the Czech Republic, thereby contributing to promoting the bilateral relationship to develop more and more practically and effectively, such as: continuing to increase contact and exchange of delegations between the two sides; promoting promotion activities, investment, trade, tourism between the two countries and the two cities; expanding cooperation, sharing experiences in the Czech Republic's strengths such as planning, planning management, urban development, transport infrastructure, building smart cities, etc.; promoting people-to-people exchanges, promoting culture and historical values ​​between the two capitals of Hanoi and Prague.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council also thanked the Czech people and Government for their affection and support for Vietnam during the war, as well as during the period of national construction and development, and hoped that the local government would continue to support the Vietnamese community here to do business and live and increasingly integrate deeply into the host country.

The mayors of Prague and Cheb shared experiences in tourism development, cultural promotion, and discussed specific measures to promote cooperation with Vietnamese localities for the benefit of businesses, localities and people of the two countries. They also emphasized that the Czech Republic prioritizes cooperation and developing relations with Vietnam.

The leaders of the two cities also highly appreciated the delegation's visit and work, affirming that the trip will contribute to promoting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic.

At the meeting with the Embassy staff and the working session with the business delegation, overseas Vietnamese experts in the Czech Republic and the leaders of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha happily informed about the socio-economic situation of Hanoi, the achievements that the city has achieved, especially in the economic field, affirming that Hanoi's successes have a significant contribution from the Vietnamese community abroad, including the business community, experts and intellectuals in the Czech Republic.

Ms. Phung Thi Hong Ha hopes that in the coming time, the Embassy, ​​leaders of associations and Vietnamese enterprises in the Czech Republic will continue to act as a bridge for cooperation between Czech and Hanoi enterprises; actively support the introduction and promotion of famous products and brands of Hanoi to the Czech Republic and international friends, thereby contributing to consolidating and improving the effectiveness of local cooperation between the two countries.
