Hanoi City has 2,756 OCOP products

On the evening of August 22, the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the People's Committee of Long Bien District to open the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that the event is a practical activity to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024); the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital Hanoi and major holidays of the country and the city in 2024.

The event has important significance in practically contributing to the economic development of rural areas and the New Rural Construction Program in localities, while promoting the campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods.

"This is an opportunity to help entities, businesses, and production households strengthen trade connections, promote brands, promote trade, find customers, access markets, especially put products on e-commerce platforms, distribution systems, shopping malls, supermarkets, stores, introduction points and sell products of the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program...", Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa emphasized.

At the same time, the subjects and businesses also exchanged experiences in digital transformation, accessing advanced technology and new technical advances, contributing to increasing the added value of products and developing sustainable agricultural value chains.

Up to now, Hanoi city has 2,756 OCOP products; of which, 6 are 5-star products, 12 are potential 5-star products, 1,491 are 4-star products and 1,247 are 3-star products.

It is known that this year, the city continues to evaluate and classify nearly 500 products to support OCOP entities in developing and improving the value and quality of products to meet the increasing demands of consumers in the capital, domestically and for export.

The fair attracted over 100 OCOP product booths. Of which, craft village products with over 1,000 OCOP products; agricultural products, craft village products participating in the event came from 38 provinces across the country including Hanoi, 19 provinces in the Central and Central Highlands, 18 provinces and cities across the country participated.

During the event, the Organizing Committee will organize for delegates and visitors to visit the land with a long-standing cultural-historical-revolutionary tradition, a place famous for many eco-tourism destinations, historical-cultural relics, natural landscapes, famous craft villages with unique cultural features in Long Bien district such as: Phuc Xa Communal House, Bo De Pagoda, Long Bien Bridge, Le Mat craft village...
