TPO – Faced with the danger of the old bridge being eroded by floodwaters, the youth union members of Tri Le commune (Que Phong, Nghe An) and the authorities poured concrete to rebuild the spillway, ensuring safety for students and people traveling.
During the recent flood, the spillway bridge over Chot stream connecting Tan Thai village to Kem Don village (Tri Le commune, Que Phong district, Nghe An) was deeply flooded, causing erosion and damage. In response to this situation, the Tri Le commune Youth Union coordinated with relevant departments to repair the spillway bridge for students and people to travel. |
The spillway is over 20m long and about 2.5m wide. Every time it rains heavily, flooding occurs due to the rising and fast-flowing stream water. |
After research, the authorities and youth union members built the spillway higher than the old level to ensure that the bridge would not be flooded when it rained. |
To make the bridge sturdy, the youth union members used wooden formwork panels to build molds and then poured concrete. |
The weather was hot but everyone was eager to complete the bridge soon. |
“The commune’s Youth Union mobilized 65 youth union members, along with more than 40 people from other functional forces, to rebuild the spillway. This work demonstrates the spirit of volunteering for the community of young people. Thereby, contributing a part of the youth’s strength to useful tasks in the area,” said Mr. Ha Duc Thinh - Secretary of the Tri Le Commune Youth Union. |
In addition to the authorities, local people also came to support the early completion of the bridge. |
The shape of the bridge gradually took shape. |
It is known that Tan Thai and Kem Don villages (Tri Le commune, Que Phong) have more than 200 households living. This spillway bridge is an important route for people and students to travel every day. |
“The cost of rebuilding the spillway bridge is more than 25 million VND. This is only a temporary bridge. In the long term, people want a solid bridge so that students can go to school with peace of mind,” said Ha Duc Thinh, Secretary of the Tri Le Commune Youth Union. |
Arouse the spirit of pride and desire to contribute of young people
