Thanh Mien still has 2 villages where village heads have not yet been elected.

The voter turnout for village and residential area head elections in Thanh Mien district averaged over 90%.

On December 8th, 83 villages and residential areas in 17 communes and towns of Thanh Mien district simultaneously held elections for village and residential area heads for the 2024-2027 term.

On election day, 43,271 household-representatives in the district cast their votes, achieving a turnout rate of 93.7%. Of these, 20 villages and residential areas had a 100% voter turnout for their village/residential area leaders. The remaining units had voter turnout rates ranging from 75% to 99%.

As a result, 81 villages and residential areas elected their village/residential area heads. Tu Xa village (Doan Ket commune) and Do Ha village (Pham Kha commune) had to hold re-elections because none of the candidates received more than 50% of the votes. These units will hold re-elections at the end of December.
