"In the theater world, even plays that win top awards at ceremonies and festivals often go unnoticed during performances. I wonder why they lack real value. Is it because of differing perspectives between directors and the judging panel? For me, how a play reaches the audience is the most important thing. And the main purpose of the festival should be an opportunity for artists to sit down and share their feelings about their professional journey," said Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc.

Agreeing with Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc's opinion, journalist Cat Vu expressed his thoughts on the issue of the true vitality of a theatrical performance: "In the field of filmmaking, there are films that, after participating in the festival, are screened but nobody watches them, while films that attract many viewers are criticized for being commercialized or catering to popular tastes. In our field of criticism, this inconsistency has yet to be explained, and we haven't received a satisfactory answer."
Director and Meritorious Artist Ca Lê Hồng gave a speech.
According to journalist Cat Vu, a true work of art must have an audience, and art must have a public. "A performance needs an audience, the artist's creativity also comes from the public, and the artist, drawing from the public, will create more beautiful and profound performances," added Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong.

Artist Thanh Hoi suggested removing the regulation on performance duration (90-150 minutes). Each work is staged based on different inspirations, and limiting the time might prevent the performance from fully conveying its intended message to the audience. Artist Ai Nhu agreed, suggesting that the performance duration should not be shortened, as a compelling storyline and script will keep the audience engaged until the end.

Regarding the media coverage for the first Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Festival, Mr. Ha Quoc Cuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theatre, stated: "For the first time, a theatre festival will have its own fanpage, with videos introducing each play, and an integrated link to the theatre's website so that audiences can access the performance schedule."
The Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Festival will officially open on November 12th at the City Theatre, kicking off with the play "Comrade" on November 13th at the 5B Theatre. The Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Association, along with five artists and directors from the Busan Theatre Association, will participate in the opening ceremony of the first Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Festival - 2024.
