Establishment of Steering Committee on streamlining the Government apparatus

(Dan Tri) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the establishment of a Steering Committee and Working Group to assist in streamlining the Government apparatus according to Resolution No. 18 of the Central Committee.

This request was made by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the regular Government meeting in October. Assessing the results achieved in the first 10 months of the year , the head of the Government said that the socio-economic situation continues to trend that the following month is better than the previous month, the following quarter is better than the previous quarter, this year is better than last year. If the GDP growth for the whole year reaches over 7%, we will achieve and exceed all 15/15 targets of 2024. In particular, a bright spot is the drastic direction, quick handling of the situation, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods, strongly promoting the spirit of mutual love, mutual affection, national love, compatriotism, not letting anyone go hungry, cold, lack of accommodation, students can go to school, sick people are treated... However, besides the achieved results, there are still many shortcomings, limitations, difficulties and challenges. The Prime Minister noted that the regional and international situation still has many uncertainties and risks; The pressure to manage the macro economy is still great, especially in terms of managing exchange rates, interest rates, supply and prices of domestic goods and services. The production and business situation in some areas is difficult, especially input spending for production; the pressure to repay corporate bonds due is great, access to credit capital is still difficult; bad debt tends to increase.

In addition, difficulties and problems in the real estate market have been slowly resolved. Disbursement of public investment capital and implementation of the VND145 trillion credit package for social housing have not met expectations. The Prime Minister emphasized three important contents. In particular, it is necessary to grasp the domestic and foreign situation, respond to feasible, timely and effective policies at all levels, sectors and especially ministries; with new, difficult and sensitive tasks, it is necessary to have political courage with high determination, great efforts, drastic actions,... The Prime Minister also requested to promote the disbursement of public investment capital, three national target programs; continue to promote the role of the Prime Minister's working groups. In particular, the Ministry of Transport, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, and enterprises must quickly and resolutely implement tasks to start the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project in 2025 and then continue to start the Lang Son - Hanoi route. Thoroughly overcome the situation of outstanding debts and slow issuance of detailed regulations and instructions for law implementation. Promptly issue a Decree on the establishment, management and use of the Investment Support Fund and a project to develop high-quality human resources to serve high-tech development. Establish a Steering Committee and a Working Group on streamlining the Government apparatus in accordance with Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the Central Committee on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective, efficient, and directed by the Politburo.
