Thanh Hoa: Pickup truck driver violates alcohol concentration, hits 9 cars parked on the side of the road

The incident happened in the early morning of November 13. At that time, Vu Huy Hoang was driving a red pickup truck on Le Loi Avenue ( Thanh Hoa City), heading from the city center towards the Big C roundabout.

In Dong Huong ward, the traffic police saw a pickup truck with signs of violation and ordered it to stop for inspection. Instead of complying, Hoang reversed the car onto a one-way street, intending to escape.

While reversing, Hoang's car hit a motorbike, and the traffic police immediately gave chase. When they reached the side of apartment building 379, Dong Huong ward, because the road was narrow, Hoang drove back and forth.

Faced with the situation, the traffic police had to use motorbikes from local residents to block the back of Hoang’s car, demanding that the vehicle stop. However, Hoang continued to accelerate and reverse to escape, dragging his motorbike and colliding with 9 other cars parked on the side of the road.

During the escape, Hoang's car got stuck on the sidewalk and was stopped by the traffic police. A breath alcohol test showed that driver Vu Huy Hoang had 0.77 mg/liter of breath.

Currently, Vu Huy Hoang has been detained by Thanh Hoa City Police to investigate the acts of "Resisting a person on official duty" and "Destroying or intentionally damaging other people's property".
