Speaking at the launching ceremony of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, Mr. Le Van Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa province, affirmed that books are always an invaluable resource, providing knowledge, nurturing creative thinking and contributing to the development of society. In the digital age, despite changes in the way of accessing information, books still play an important role in forming awareness and shaping the future of each individual.
At the ceremony, exchanging with students about the issue of developing reading culture in the digital age, Mr. Nguyen Canh Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, founder of Alpha Books Joint Stock Company emphasized: “Don't consider AI as Google. Use AI intelligently, think, and be creative. To do that, people need to train their brains and the way to train their brains is to read books, especially thinking books”. According to Mr. Nguyen Canh Binh, everyone can use AI, but how to use it and how to present it is different. Human intelligence will decide that. AI can look up, summarize, suggest... for you, but it cannot evaluate, think critically or make the final choice for you. To use AI intelligently, people must have a foundation of knowledge and independent thinking - something that long-term reading brings.
According to Ms. Le Thi Hoa, Principal of Cu Chinh Lan Secondary School (Thanh Hoa City): “I always tell students that if they want to use ChatGPT better than others, read more than them. Reading helps them understand more deeply, ask better questions and know how to criticize what technology offers”. Developing a reading culture is not to fight against technology, but to help people stand firm in the world of technology. If you want to use AI intelligently, start training your brain by reading books.
On this occasion, the sponsors presented 33 bicycles and 80 backpacks to poor students who have overcome difficulties at schools in Thanh Hoa City; presented 2 bookcases, each worth 5 million VND, to Thieu Van Primary and Secondary School and Dong Huong Primary School; Alpha Books Joint Stock Company presented books to Trieu Son 3 High School; Thanh Hoa Provincial Library presented free reader cards to students of Cu Chinh Lan Secondary School; Thanh Hoa Publishing House presented books to Thanh Hoa Bookstore and Hoi An Bookstore.
