The average import price of meat and meat products from India to Vietnam decreased by 14.8% compared to the same period in 2022, down to 2,934 USD/ton.

In the first 8 months of 2023, imports of meat and meat products from India reached 90.47 thousand tons, worth 265.96 million USD, down 13.6% in volume and 20.9% in value over the same period in 2022.

In the first 8 months of 2023, the market structure supplying meat and meat products to Vietnam changed when imports from India, the United States, Brazil, and South Korea decreased, while imports from Russia increased compared to the same period in 2022.

In the first 8 months of 2023, imports of fresh, chilled or frozen pork reached 66.95 thousand tons, worth 173.11 million USD, up 3.2% in volume and 25.7% in value over the same period in 2022.

In August 2023, fresh chilled or frozen pork was imported from 19 markets, mainly from Brazil, accounting for 51.96% of the country's total pork imports; followed by Russia, accounting for 23.31%; the United States, accounting for 4.61%; Canada, accounting for 4.45%; Denmark, accounting for 4.08%...

The amount of pork imported from these markets to Vietnam in August 2023 all increased sharply compared to the same period in 2022.

In the first 8 months of 2023, the market structure supplying pork to Vietnam changed, as the proportion of imports from Russia and the United States increased; while the proportion of imports from Brazil, Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands decreased.

Experts predict that there will be no shortage of supply in the last months of the year because from September onwards, people and businesses will step up herd restoration, along with imports for businesses to process.
