Since the beginning of the fourth lunar month, Buddhists across the country have come to Ba Den Mountain to celebrate Buddha's birthday - the most important Buddhist holiday of the year, turning the highest mountain in the South into a pilgrimage site during Buddha's birthday season.
Taking place in the fourth lunar month every year, Buddha's Birthday is the most important event for Buddhists around the world to commemorate the birth of Buddha Shakyamuni in the 7th century BC.
In 2024, Buddhist calendar 2568, Buddha's birthday will be celebrated from May 8 to 22 (April 1 to April 15, Giap Thin year) at pagodas and monasteries across the country. At Ba Den Mountain, Tay Ninh, the grand ceremony to celebrate Buddha's birthday will take place on May 18 (April 11 of the lunar calendar) with solemn and sacred rituals. This is an opportunity for Buddhists to return to the symbolic mountain in the spiritual life of the Southern people to remember and show gratitude to Buddha.

The grand ceremony to offer candles to celebrate Buddha's birthday will be held on May 18 on Ba Den Mountain.
In particular, on the top of Ba Den Mountain, a grand lantern offering ceremony to celebrate the Buddha's birthday was held on the evening of Saturday, May 18, with thousands of lanterns lit in a large square at the foot of the statue of Buddha Tay Bo Da Son and at the foot of the great statue of Bodhisattva Maitreya. Special wooden lanterns were made by Sun World Ba Den Mountain for Buddhists and visitors to assemble the lanterns themselves and write prayers to offer to the Buddha.
In addition to the lamp offering ceremony, a special art program will also be held on the mountain top with an attractive blend of traditional dances and melodious tunes recalling the Buddha's birth and his merits.

According to Associate Professor Dr. Pham Trung Luong - former Deputy Director of the Institute of Tourism Research (General Department of Tourism): "With its exhibition system and unique experiences about Buddhist culture, Ba Den Mountain can be considered the first place in Vietnam for people to come and have very basic and necessary understanding of Buddhist values".
In particular, a meaningful experience when coming to Ba Den Mountain during the Buddha's birthday season is to worship and pay homage to the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni, presented to Vietnam by the World Buddhist Federation in Bodh Gaya, India, in 2014. For Buddhists, being able to worship the Buddha's relics is a miracle, just like seeing the Buddha still present in this world, with compassion, joy, and forgiveness, saving all living beings.

The Ba Pagoda system is associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau.
As one of the most sacred peaks in Vietnam, Ba Den Mountain with its 300-year-old Ba Pagoda system and majestic Buddhist structures on the mountain top is known as a pilgrimage land, a place to sow more good karma of Buddhism, bringing opportunities for Buddhists and tourists from all over to seek peace and complete happiness.
