'March always brings very special emotions'

Surely those who have gone through the exciting youth with the Youth Union will never forget the beautiful memories.

Tuoi Tre Online had a conversation with Dr. Huynh Trung Phong - Director of the Center for Student Support and Entrepreneurship Development, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, on this topic. He is also a familiar MC of youth programs.

* These days are the preparation for the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024). How do you feel these days? Are you hosting any programs about the Youth Union on this occasion?

- Not only me, but anyone who has ever participated in Youth Union activities will always have very special feelings when March comes. It is a feeling of excitement mixed with pride if we have gone through a period of vibrant activities, or it will be the excitement of young people who are and will participate in activities in the youth uniform.

On this occasion, every year I often host programs to launch Youth Month, the anniversary of the founding of the Union, the Ho Hao Hon award ceremony, the Youth Festival, "Union Day" of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, or the Provincial Youth Unions of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An ... This year is no exception to similar programs.

* In addition to teaching, you also participate in other school activities, and you are also an MC for programs related to the Youth Union. You appear in the Youth Union uniform and scarf, very youthful and impressive. How do you feel when hosting those programs, especially hosting campaigns in the provinces?

- As someone who has lived, worked and grown up in the environment of the Youth Union, when hosting programs of my own organization, my first feeling is definitely pride and confidence. These are very familiar things and I understand them very well. This is also a favorable condition for me to be able to best fulfill my duties as a leader and connector.

For the programs, summer volunteer campaigns in the provinces as you mentioned are even more favorable. The Green Summer volunteer campaign originated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Education - where I was trained, grew up and am working with the original name "Summer Cultural Light". So the emotions and understanding of the program are multiplied many times.

* When did you start being active in the Youth Union and what was the opportunity?

- I joined the Youth Union in 1999, when I was in 9th grade. And during 3 years of high school, I was the secretary of the Youth Union branch and a member of the Executive Committee of the Youth Union of Le Quy Don High School, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City.

At university, I continued to participate in the Faculty Union and the School Union, holding the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Faculty Union, Executive Committee member, Standing Committee member and Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Education Union.

I am a person who loves mass activities, has talent in sports , culture and arts, so I participate in the activities of the Union. Then gradually I became passionate without knowing when, and have been attached to it until today.

Dr. Huynh Trung Phong (40 years old) has many achievements in Youth Union activities, receiving the "For the Young Generation" medal from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. He received certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for many years; certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for outstanding young teachers nationwide in 2019; certificates of merit from the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union for outstanding young teachers in Ho Chi Minh City for many years...

"Youth activities help me grow up a lot"

* During your student years and after graduation, there must have been some Union activities that left many memories in you?

- When I was directly involved in the activities of the Youth Union, perhaps the most memorable for me were the training programs to improve the skills of Youth Union officials. That was when enthusiastic, like-minded young people got to work together. And the programs and summer volunteer campaigns that I participated in.

During those campaigns, we went to remote areas to support the people, especially the children and students. There were times when we traveled overnight between the activity sites to make it in time for the next morning. Or a quick meal with simple dishes for the people when the whole group had to prepare elaborately for the activities all day until night...

* How do you see yourself growing up with the Group? Is there any special moment that helps you realize that you have grown up with the Group?

- To have a Trung Phong like today, it can be said that the collective environment, with extremely rich, meaningful and useful activities, has helped me mature a lot in my thinking, awareness and personal capacity.

Specifically, in problem recognition, problem solving, decisiveness, emotional balance, patience, the ability to overcome challenges... The Youth Union activities also gave me confidence in front of a crowd, the ability to present a problem fluently, the ability to argue tightly and convince listeners.

These are the skills that help me a lot in becoming a professional presenter.

On the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, I would like to send my best wishes for health and happiness to all union members.
