Zakhar Dzmitrychenka will compete for the championship belt with Pham Cong Minh.

Lion Championship organizers announced Zakhar Dzmitrychenka as the challenger for 84kg champion Pham Cong Minh. The title match will take place on May 10 in Hanoi.

Pham Cong Minh won the 84 kg championship belt of the Lion Championship in December 2023. The national Sanshou master knocked out Tran Quoc Toan. Previously, Pham Cong Minh held the record for the fastest "finishing" of an opponent at the tournament when he defeated Hoang Tran Minh Hieu in 15 seconds.

This Lion Championship 84kg title match is a contest between two fighters with opposite fighting styles. Pham Cong Minh specializes in Sanshou, so he is strong in striking. Meanwhile, Zakhar Dzmitrychenka is an expert in grappling.

Pham Cong Minh was a national wushu athlete. He was known as the "undefeated" martial artist in the country, having won the national championship eight times in a row. In addition, Pham Cong Minh won a silver medal at the world championship.

Meanwhile, Zakhar Dzmitrychenka is a foreign fighter who has attracted attention in recent months. The Belarusian wrestler came to Vietnam to try his hand at MMA (mixed martial arts) with 2 victories over Le Hong Giang and Tran Quoc Toan at the Lion Championship.

Zakhar Dzmitrychenka's name became more widely known when he continuously participated in traditional wrestling festivals in many northern localities at the beginning of the new year of At Ty 2025. The 1996-born Belarusian wrestler specializes in classical wrestling (Greco-Roman) and is a belt wrestling champion (a traditional wrestling style of Central Asia and Russia).

In recent years, Zakhar Dzmitrychenka has switched to Ju-Jitsu and MMA (mixed martial arts). A few days ago, the Belarusian boxer competed with former SEA Games champion Ha Van Hieu in a traditional wrestling format. The two wrestlers were undecided after 12 rounds, sharing a prize money of nearly 400 million VND.
