Identifying that taking care of workers' lives is one of the important tasks of the trade union organization, contributing significantly to the sustainable development of the company, the Trade Union of Hon Gai Coal Company is always proactive and active in researching and developing goals, solutions, and proposing with expertise to effectively implement taking care of workers' lives and building welfare projects to serve workers.

With more than 4,000 employees, most of whom are young, providing enough accommodation for workers in need in collective housing areas and supporting workers in difficult circumstances to build new houses or repair their houses is a big challenge for Hon Gai Coal Company. However, identifying workers as valuable assets, an important factor determining stability and development, the company has focused on building new and renovating collective housing areas to ensure good living conditions for 817 single people in collective housing areas and 19 family collective apartments.
Since 2013, under the direction of the Party Committee, the Trade Union of Hon Gai Coal Company has coordinated with the professional sector to establish a Fund to support housing construction and repair and develop a joint regulation on "Management and use of the Fund to support housing construction and repair"; the maximum support level for new construction is 50 million VND; the maximum support level for repair is 20 million VND. Thanks to that, many families of employees have been supported to build and repair houses.

In early 2024, the company's union coordinated with experts to consider supporting the construction and repair of new houses for 49 families with a total amount of nearly 2 billion VND. Last September, storm No. 3 caused great damage to the company and its workers. The company's union took note and organized visits to the level of 2 million VND/family for workers' families who suffered particularly heavy damage such as completely blown off roofs, no place to eat, live, and work. Along with that, it considered supporting 524 families with a total amount of over 2 billion VND, of which the union supported 637 million VND.
With the goal of ensuring the best health for employees, the Company's Union has proposed to the Board of Directors many solutions to improve the quality of service and meals for employees. The Union has coordinated with specialized agencies to establish inspection and supervision teams, steering committees to monitor and develop menus suitable for employees in the direction of diversifying and improving the quality of dishes.

In particular, in 2024, the company organized a "Union Meal" as a sincere thank you to the workers with a total amount of over 336 million VND, of which the company's Union spent nearly 169 million VND. During the "Union Meal", the union members expressed their excitement not only because of the care and attention given to each meal, but also because of the warm and friendly atmosphere of the company's leaders and the union organization with the workers. Everyone exchanged and shared to increase understanding and attachment between workers and employers. Mr. Do Van Cuong, a worker of the company, shared: I am very happy to participate in the "Union Meal", the meal is not only delicious, but also an opportunity for us to meet and talk together. We feel cared for and respected.
Not only that, the company also organizes domestic and foreign tours for employees with high achievements in production; maintains a visiting regime when employees are sick, families in difficulty, families with preferential policies... Since the beginning of the year, the union has organized visits, encouraged, and given gifts to families of workers in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 181 million VND; visited 9 workers who lost over 61% of their health and 24 safety and hygiene workers.
With specific and practical actions, Hon Gai Coal Company has always paid attention to ensuring the life, safe working environment and health of employees. This is the factor that helps employees complete their work well, contributing to the company's effective production and business, and sustainable development.
