Gregory Robert Smith was born and raised in West Reading, Pennsylvania, USA. He is known as one of the youngest geniuses in the world.
Dream of owning 4 PhDs
At the age of 2, Gregory Smith showed intelligence that was far superior to that of his peers. With the ability to recognize language and memorize quickly, Gregory easily memorized books, especially books about dinosaurs and archeology.
At the age of 3, he was able to perform calculations fluently and was called a genius by everyone around him.
As Gregory grew older, he increased the difficulty of the books he read. He even read Jules Verne's science fiction works.
Unlike other children, Gregory only took 1 year to complete the general education program up to grade 8. After that, it did not take him long to graduate with honors from Orange Park High School.
The most shocking moment was when he was 10 years old, an age when he should still be playing and learning basic knowledge, Gregory was admitted to Randolph-Macon College in Ashland.
Being the youngest student, Gregory quickly integrated into the environment, successfully graduating with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Mathematics. In addition, he studied additional programs in History and Biology.
Having just received his bachelor's degree, Gregory continued to register for a PhD in Mathematics. At that time, the American prodigy made many people admire him when he expressed his desire to obtain 4 PhDs in Mathematics, Biomedical Research, Aerospace Engineering and Political Science.
Received Nobel nomination at the age of 12
Despite his young age, Gregory is always highly regarded by his professors. In addition to his unlimited ability to learn and research, Gregory is also noted for his efforts to protect children around the world. In addition to studying, he always spends time participating in activities for peace and children. He does not hesitate to go anywhere in the world, as long as there is someone who needs help, Gregory is always ready.
In 2000, Gregory founded International Youth Advocates (IYA), a charity with the mission of promoting understanding of the principles of peace around the world.
Through IYA, Gregory has built a fund to support children in Sao Paulo and East Timor, and built more community libraries in Rwanda with the hope that more children will have access to knowledge.
Gregory calls on countries to protect children's rights and end violence. All his activities are aimed at peace. Whenever he has the opportunity to meet with leaders of countries or Nobel Peace Prize winners, Gregory presents his plans with the hope of receiving more help.
He has met with Presidents and Nobel Peace Prize winners to explain his plans. According to him, education is the foundation of development. Gregory once said that "any child has the right to learn and become a genius".
For his work that comes from the heart, Gregory has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize four times. He was first nominated in 2012, when he was just 12 years old.
After many years of hard work, Gregory has achieved many great successes. He currently works at the Icahn School of Medicine, Mount Sinai, New York, specializing in researching effective treatments for cancer patients.
Besides his main job, Gregory continues his journey for peace.
