Analyzing the challenges that school boards are facing in the journey to build happy schools, Vice President of the Hanoi Association of Educational Psychology, former Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Anh emphasized the important role of psychological consultants as "happy vitamins".
This is a catalyst to help connect the Board of Directors, teachers, students and parents, thereby improving the effectiveness of school mental health care, creating a solid foundation for a safe and positive educational environment.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Anh also emphasized the role of the principal in realizing the 12 criteria for a happy school proposed by UNESCO. Only when these criteria are implemented synchronously, can the school truly become a happy environment, where each individual is respected, understood and has the opportunity to develop comprehensively.
Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Educational Psychology, Distinguished Teacher, Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam emphasized that there are many theories in books, but reality is more important. Teachers in charge of school psychology need to continue to promote their internal strength and proactiveness to carry out this work.
“Happiness is very important. Teachers must be happy to spread happiness to everyone. We go to ‘heal’ the children, but the more important thing is how to help them develop themselves. School psychological counseling must be done so that students can solve their own internal problems,” Dr. Nguyen Tung Lam advised.
At the workshop, many teachers shared about practical activities implemented in schools in Hanoi to build a happy school environment.
In addition, the speakers also answered many practical questions about how to effectively implement psychological support programs in schools, and shared their strategic vision to build an education system that focuses on the happiness and comprehensive development of students.
With the support of experts, educators and administrators, the concept of a “happy school” is no longer a distant idea but is gradually becoming a reality, where each student is understood, safe and comprehensively developed.
The results achieved from the workshop will be the foundation for spreading the operating model of the Hanoi school psychology consultant community to other provinces and cities across the country, expanding the school psychological health care network in Vietnam.
