(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Bat Mot Border Guard Station is assigned to manage and protect 17.492km of border, including 7 national border markers and to take charge of ensuring security and order in Bat Mot commune (Thuong Xuan) with 893 households/4,018 people. The lives of people in the area are still difficult, and the activities of all kinds of criminals, especially the crime of buying, selling, and illegally transporting drugs across the border, are complicated.

Bat Mot Border Guard Station supports seedlings and fertilizers for people in Duc and Vin villages, Bat Mot commune (Thuong Xuan).

With the motto "The station is home, the border is homeland, the people of all ethnic groups are blood brothers", over the years, Bat Mot Border Guard Station has always fulfilled its mission of maintaining territorial sovereignty and national border security. At the same time, it has coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, and organizations to participate in socio-economic development, ensure social security; fight against all kinds of crimes, join hands to build a strong people's border defense, maintain security, order, and social safety in the border area.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Anh Son, Chief of Bat Mot Border Guard Station, said: “Bat Mot Border Guard Station currently has 1 cadre assigned to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Bat Mot Commune Party Committee; 35 party members in charge of 163 households in the area. In different positions, cadres and party members of Bat Mot Border Guard Station have promoted their sense of responsibility, participated in strengthening strong village and hamlet party cells. Border guard party members are always pioneers in helping people eliminate hunger and reduce poverty with many good models, practical and effective methods... At the same time, the unit launched a mass movement to participate in protecting national border security and sovereignty; consolidated, improved and improved the quality of activities of 9 security and order teams/27 members. Coordinated with the above units and enterprises to support the people of Vin and Duc villages with seeds, fertilizers, and technical guidance on growing high-yield crops”.

In addition, Bat Mot Border Post has effectively promoted the implementation of the programs: "Border Spring warms the hearts of the villagers", "March on the border", "Accompanying women in the border areas", "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the border post". As of February 2025, the unit has sponsored 8 children under the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the border post" and 18 children under the project "Army officers and soldiers help children go to school". Every year, each officer in the unit deducts 3 days of salary and allowance to support the unit's sponsored children and adopted children. The support amount to date is over 100 million VND. At the same time, the unit assigns specific tasks to officers to monitor and take charge; establishes a contact book between families, schools and the unit, making it convenient to grasp and exchange the situation to help the children; assigns military doctors to regularly check and take care of the children's health...

Over the years, the unit has closely coordinated with Lao functional forces to carry out the task of exchanging information and situations related to national border security, coordinating well in bilateral patrols to combat and prevent all kinds of crimes, and mobilizing the people in the border areas of the two countries to well implement the contents of the Border Regulation Agreement. Proactively develop a plan to coordinate with Company 216, Military Command of Hua Phan Province (Laos) to conduct bilateral patrols; coordinate with the police, military, forest rangers, and regular militia to organize unilateral patrols of border lines, border markers, and protect forests. Help the people in the border villages of your country to develop their economy, culture, and society. Up to now, the unit has supported medical equipment, construction materials, and seedlings for your villages worth more than 200 million VND. The unit always strictly maintains combat readiness, protects the safety of the area and unit during important political events of the country and the army...

With the motto of “3 sticking, 4 together” with the people in the border areas, the soldiers in green uniforms at Bat Mot Border Post have closely coordinated with the local authorities and people in the area to build and develop the economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, ensure social order and safety, and border security. With these specific actions, the officers and soldiers of Bat Mot Border Post have contributed to building an increasingly close-knit solidarity between the army and the people in the border areas, consolidating the people's border defense posture, contributing to firmly protecting the territorial sovereignty and national border security.
