Specifically, the content of the practical tour to overcome the incident of broken dikes, lakes, and dams in incidents and natural disasters was carried out in 3 situations: Situation 1 to handle the extrusion and sand and mud on the field side was carried out by Team 1 of Brigade 249 (Engineering Corps): The situation was structured at Km5+240 of Huu Hong dike including 3 extrusion holes close together due to the difference in water level on the river side and the field side causing the water to push up.

Delegates visited and practiced repairing broken dikes, lakes and dams.

Scenario 2 of handling the riverside dike slope erosion due to waves and currents was carried out by Team 2 of Brigade 249: The scenario was structured at the section from K5+240 ÷ K5+260 of Huu Hong dike, the eroded dike slope was 20m long, the top of the arch was eroded at elevation (+4.20), the toe of the arch was eroded at elevation (+2.80). The cause was due to the uneven structure of the dike body; long immersion time, combined with heavy rain, strong currents, and strong waves hitting directly on the dike body and dike slope.

Scenario 3: handling local overflow over the dike. The cause is due to rapid river water rise, narrow riverbed and riverbank, poor drainage leading to water overflowing over the dike.

Practice troubleshooting of landslides on riverside dike slopes.

At the end of the practical tour to overcome the incidents of dike, lake and dam breakage in incidents and natural disasters, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army held a closing ceremony for the training course.

At the closing ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the training course said that after 2 days of training, the training course on civil defense, dike incident response and ensuring communication in situations of incidents, natural disasters, and search and rescue was successful, according to the program and plan, ensuring safety in all aspects.

The organizing committee of the training course affirmed that responding to incidents at dikes, lakes and dams in natural disasters and search and rescue is an extremely important task in protecting people's lives, national assets and maintaining national defense and security.

Practice extrusion and sand mud treatment.

Faced with increasingly complex developments of extreme weather and the risk of hydraulic works incidents, mastering knowledge, handling procedures, improving command and operation capacity and properly implementing civil defense steps will determine the effectiveness of response work.

Readiness, sense of responsibility and determination will be key factors contributing significantly to minimizing damage, ensuring people's safety and maintaining security and political stability in all situations.

In the current conditions of scientific and technological development, in addition to using local materials according to traditional methods, Vietnam also needs to promote the application of modern technologies to practice handling incidents of dikes, lakes and dams with the highest efficiency.
