On April 22, a working group from the Provincial Council for Appraisal of Traditional Occupations, Craft Villages, and Traditional Craft Villages conducted an appraisal of Dong Tao Nam Kumquat Ornamental Craft Village, Dong Tao Commune (Khoai Chau).
The kumquat growing profession in Dong Tao Nam village was established in 2000. Up to now, there are 252/692 households engaged in the profession, with main products including bonsai kumquats, ornamental kumquats... In 2024, the total revenue of the craft village reached 72.5 billion VND; the average income of workers participating in production reached nearly 86 million VND/person. Currently, kumquat growing households in the craft village have used soil milling machines, automatic watering systems; high-tech techniques of grafting, grafting, and propagating trees in production...
At the craft village, the appraisal team conducted appraisals on production conditions, scale, products, revenue, environmental sanitation, etc.
After consulting on the activities of the craft village, the appraisal team voted and agreed to propose the Provincial People's Committee to consider recognizing the craft village for Dong Tao Nam Kumquat Craft Village.
