Deploying electronic medical records is an important step, demonstrating the commitment of Muong Khuong District General Hospital in modernizing the medical examination and treatment management system, towards a smart hospital, providing more effective and accurate patient care.
Muong Khuong District General Hospital has invested and applied information technology in management and treatment, implementing an electronic medical record system in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Health .
At the appraisal session, Muong Khuong District General Hospital reported the results of implementing information technology applications and electronic medical records.
Currently, the hospital has performed 9,765 technical services, reaching 50.3% of the prescribed list, including some typical technical services such as: laparoscopic surgery in the field of surgery and obstetrics; trauma surgery, bone fusion; laparoscopic surgery of the gallbladder, appendicitis, digestive tract...

Information technology infrastructure is invested synchronously. The server room system is fully equipped, has a raised floor system, fire prevention and fighting system, temperature control, access control...
Currently, the hospital has 150 computers connected to the internal network, 100% connected to the LAN, using software for medical examination, treatment and hospital management. The hospital management information technology system (HIS) meets the requirements for medical examination and treatment management, many subsystems and features have met the advanced level.
Muong Khuong District General Hospital requested the Ministry of Health and Lao Cai Department of Health to soon issue documents guiding the technical and economic norms for the use of information technology applications in medical examination and treatment so that medical facilities have funding to perform warranty and maintenance of systems and equipment, ensuring sustainability when deploying information technology applications at hospitals. In addition, regulations should be issued soon to allow the application of patient signatures according to new regulations in medical records.



The appraisal council inspected the actual information technology infrastructure, including the systems: HIS, LIS, PACS, EMR..., and surveyed a number of departments and functional rooms in the hospital. At the same time, the electronic medical record operation process was evaluated on the actual system, as a basis for accurate and objective assessment of the unit's implementation results.
The appraisal council voted and agreed on the criteria to implement electronic medical records to replace paper medical records at Muong Khuong District General Hospital.
