This morning, January 11, a working delegation of Naval Region 3 and representatives of localities, agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals led by Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, continued their voyage to Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai Province) to visit and extend New Year greetings to the people, officers, and soldiers of Radar Station 550 and agencies, units, and forces on duty on the island.

During the visit, the Naval Region 3 Command and representatives of local leaders, agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals presented practical and meaningful gifts and sent warm New Year wishes, full of military-civilian affection, to officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550, the forces on duty and people in Ly Son island district.

Speaking at the program, Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh informed that Radar Station 550 performs its tasks in complicated conditions in the sea area where the unit is in charge, especially foreign fishing vessels frequently intrude into our country's waters.

However, the station's officers and soldiers, together with the people and soldiers on the island district, united and strived to overcome difficulties and challenges, successfully completed their tasks, built a national defense and people's security at sea, contributing to the management and firm protection of the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Colonel Pham Dinh Thanh praised and acknowledged the efforts, contributions and achievements of the officers and soldiers of Radar Station 550 in the past time. He wished the army and people of Ly Son island district to continue to reap new victories. At the same time, he hoped that Radar Station 550 and the army and people of Ly Son island district would continue to uphold the spirit of solidarity, diligence and hard work, building the island district to develop faster, more sustainably and more effectively in all fields. From there, Ly Son would quickly become a center of economic tourism, a key area in the country's sea and island development strategy.

At the program, artists of the Vietnam Youth Theatre, delegates and officers exchanged performances, short plays; participated in wrapping Chung cakes, and picked democratic flowers, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere of the coming Tet holiday.
On the same morning, the delegation offered incense at the Ly Son District Martyrs Cemetery, the Hoang Sa Heroes Monument and participated in the flag-raising ceremony at the Ly Son Island National Flagpole.
