Thai San returns to showbiz after 20 years

Famous Saigon actor of the 1990s - Thai San - returns to showbiz with the MV "I Wanna be in You", after 20 years of absence.

During the music video introduction on the afternoon of June 19 in Ho Chi Minh City, the actor said that 20 years ago, he gave up his acting and singing career to go to France to take care of his mother, until she passed away in 2011.

"My life abroad is now stable. I want to return to work in the entertainment industry," Thai San said.

Liking Phuong Thanh's natural, husky voice when singing pop-rock, during his trip back to Vietnam in early June, Thai San invited the singer to record I Wanna be in You . The two had 10 days to work, filming the MV in Phan Thiet ( Binh Thuan ) before the actress returned to France.

I Wanna Be in You is a new composition in the rock genre by Phi Vu. Previously, Thai San specialized in singing French pop music but loved rock. The actor said that thanks to Phuong Thanh's "passion", he felt more confident when recording. "I cried when performing the climax of the song. Maybe it was because of the sadness of not being able to work that had been pent up for many years," he said.

After the MV, the actor said he would travel between the two countries to satisfy his passion for singing. He also received several invitations to act in films and is planning to produce a work for which he wrote the script.

Thai San, 49 years old, was born in Da Lat. When he was a student of Chemistry at Da Lat University, he joined the school's art troupe, performing French and Russian songs. In 1989, the actor was taken to the film crew by his cousin, singer and film actress Thanh Lan, and met director Le Hoang Hoa. He had a chance to work on the screen when the director invited him to act in the film Behind a Fate.

After that, Thai San studied Drama Actors at the School of Stage Arts II, and Film Actors at the Ho Chi Minh City Film School. In the early 1990s, he, Ly Hung, Le Cong Tuan Anh, Le Tuan Anh, and Hoang Phuc were popular actors on the screen with commercial films. The actor specialized in playing the roles of students and kind-hearted rich young masters, through some typical films such as: Tam Cam, Toc gio thoi bay, Sao em voi lo chong, Dung noi xa nhau.
