Thai Nguyen popularizes national domain names to develop digital economy

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In the context of declining economic growth of the FDI sector, the province needs to seek new growth drivers, in which the application of science and technology and digital transformation are key factors. The implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, and the popularization of the ".vn" domain name to each individual and business household will contribute to the formation of digital citizens, digital brands, improving labor productivity and promoting the development of the digital economy. With a population of 1.4 million people but only about 4,000 individuals using domain names, Thai Nguyen needs to make more efforts to widely popularize digital services based on national domain names.

At the Conference, the representative of Vietnam Internet Center affirmed: The domain name “.vn” is not only an identification tool in the digital environment but also a platform to affirm personal brand, expand online business, increase recognition and reputation for businesses, individuals and organizations.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned localities to select 3-5 cooperatives and individual business households in each commune to support online presence, prioritizing the fields of agricultural production and processing; at the same time, requested the Department of Industry and Trade to compile a list to organize effective support. In addition, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned Thai Nguyen Provincial Youth Union to launch a strong communication campaign in the "Green Summer Volunteer" Campaign, focusing on promoting the programs "Popular AI Learning", "C-Thai Nguyen" and encouraging the use of the domain name ".vn".
