Thai Nguyen: Nearly 100% of voters representing households agree with the plan to arrange administrative units and merge provinces.

As of 3:00 p.m. on April 19, the entire Thai Nguyen province had completed collecting voters' opinions representing households on the policy of rearranging commune-level administrative units and merging the two provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen.

Statistical results from the Department of Home Affairs show a high sense of responsibility among citizens in exercising their rights and obligations as citizens, with a participation rate of 99.97% and an almost absolute consensus rate.

Previously, on the first day of implementation (April 18), the local authorities had carefully and proactively prepared the polling work, ensuring the most favorable conditions for people to participate. The atmosphere at the polling stations was filled with excitement, trust and democracy; security, order and social safety were absolutely guaranteed.

According to the preliminary report by the end of April 18, the average voter turnout rate reached 98.14%, of which the rate of agreement with the arrangement plans at the commune and provincial levels reached 98.88%.

Specifically, out of a total of 333,056 households surveyed, 332,953 households participated (99.97%). Of these, 99.80% were valid votes (332,398 votes), with 99.80% of the votes in favor. There were only 543 votes of disagreement (0.16%) and 18 votes of other opinions (0.01%).

Notably, many localities such as Pho Yen City and Vo Nhai District achieved an absolute consensus rate of 100%. Song Cong City and Thai Nguyen City also recorded very high rates, reaching 99.98% and 99.79%, respectively. The remaining districts such as Phu Luong, Dong Hy, Phu Binh, Dinh Hoa and Dai Tu all fluctuated between 99.54% and 99.88%, demonstrating a consistent level of consensus across the province.

Regarding the policy of merging the two provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen, the average consensus rate of the whole province also reached a very high level of 99.18%. In particular, Pho Yen City and Vo Nhai District continued to be two typical units with 100% of households supporting. Other localities also had a rate of over 99%, reflecting the strong consensus of the people towards the major strategic orientation of the Party and State.

The organization of the opinion gathering was carried out methodically, seriously and democratically. Localities have fully prepared conditions, provided clear instructions, and created favorable conditions for people to access information and express their opinions fully and transparently. The atmosphere at the opinion gathering points was serious, exciting, and absolutely safe.

The results of the consultation not only demonstrate the high consensus of the people but also demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and unity for the common interests of the nation and people. This is a solid foundation for Thai Nguyen to continue to effectively implement the next steps in the process of administrative unit arrangement, contributing to building a modern, effective and efficient administration to better serve the people.
